Ana's Place — Restaurant in Tulare

Annas Place was recommended to me. So I took my wife there for breakfast/lunch on a Saturday morning. It seems like it's in an out of the way location, yet it was packed. Very family friendly environment. It looked as if it is a family ran business. A mother and her daughters. The service was quick and friendly. The food was phenomenal. My wife ordered the Chile Verde omelet. Very rich in flavor. Large portions. She really enjoyed it. I ordered the Kitchen Sink Omlet. I'm not big on bell peppers in my food, but they found a way to make me thourouly enjoy it. It was packed with several different kinds of meat, cheese, bell peppers, and onion. The Omlet was pretty big. My only complaint is the portion size of the hash browns that came with it. It was very modest.

Overall, I highly recommend Anna's Place to family's looking to enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price. Or to couples looking to spend a meal together. If you go alone, they have a counter to eat at as well.

I liked the fact that there were no TVs or music blaring. They actually have a sign that says "No Wifi. Act like it's 1995 and talk to each other". Super funny.

This place is sooo good. We were going to try the chile verde.. after seeing the steaming bowls and the HOT homemade tortillas we both got menus. I have to share that it takes a certain way to clean n cook the menudo. This ace knows how. I am VERY particular about this soup. I can say i had not had a menudo sooo delicious in over 20+ years at home. It was tender it had all the different textures of beef menudo.. it even has the feet!!!! You don't find that anywhere but home. It was cleaned n cooked correctly. After you finish there is NO grease residue in the bowl like every other one ive seen. It was seasoned just right and the condiments were plentiful!! I've seen other aces that charge sooo much for a bowl of water n greasy liquids. Like I wrote water n oil don't mix well. I’m a trucker.. any opportunity to stop here and eat, I do.. even go out of my way sometimes. When I think of it, I tell everybody about Ana’s.. food is always great and service is usually pretty good. This time, the food was excellent as usual, but my server was not.. she was pleasant but seemed more interested in talking to customers she knew than checking on me. .. had to ask for assistance rather than her stopping by to make sure I was taken care of. I’m a big tipper, for good service, 20 to 25% and up. I’ve managed a few restaurants in my past.. I know how hard they work and they rely on tips. I still tipped 15% this time.. but with good or excellent service, 20 to 30%. My breakfast was $30.. steak and eggs, well worth the price.. the service,...
