Chilitos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Tulare

Patio seating was the only option of course, so I can’t speak much on the interior of the restaurant but the patio was very nice… They had fans set up everywhere, tables are spaced apart. We started with a couple of margaritas that were a little bit weak.. not much tequila.. The chips and salsa were great, it also came with a bean dip. Their tortillas were absolutely delicious both flour and corn. The service was great very friendly and helpful. My mother ordered the chili relleno (add taco meat) and it was probably the best one I have ever had. The white sauce that comes on top of it was incredible! I ordered the queso fundido.. they bring it out in a sizzling skillet… I’m not sure if you’re supposed to stir the cheese yourself to prevent burning? maybe everyone knows that and I didn’t know it, but within a minute or two all the cheese was burned up so it was terrible. We mentioned the fact that it was burned to two different servers yet no remedy was offered so we just paid for it and left.. so the only thing keeping it from being five stars was the burnt cheese without a remedy from the waitstaff and the weak/watery margaritas.. otherwise I would highly...

Do not recommend. Service was poor. I had a hair in my food and the server told me, “I’ll take it back. I don’t see it, but okay”. If you zoom into the last picture you could see the hair. She had an attitude the whole time. When they brought out my food the second time the tortilla was barely cooked and the shrimp looked like it lacked flavor compared to the first plate. I wish it came with a salsa or anything else. They charged me an extra dollar for my camarón taco too (compared to the menu)! I like that they put beans with my chips, even though the salsa was okay. It lacked flavor tbh.

Customer 2: Ordered auguachiles. Service was bad. The aguachiles were good. Did not come with tostadas!

Customer 3: Ordered Tostada Mixta. Beans were okay. I liked the salsa. Had to ask for more chips. Seafood was good. I wish I had a lemon. I didn’t get an extra tostada either. I would not eat here again. The other server was more helpful than our own. We never got a refill...

It was Okay. Visited on a Friday night around 7pm. We were seated not far from the bar. It was nearly crowded thus was very loud at a time inside the restaurant, no music. Many flat screens TV featuring a baseball game. Complimentary salsa and tortilla chips. Ordered a California burrito(cream, bean, rice, asada, guacamole, topped off with melted cheese and a drop of green sauce). Ordered a glass of horchata - but it didn't hit the spot. I've tasted better horchata elsewhere and even made it myself, but this one tasted odd despite the description on receipt "homemade" horchata. Next item was chili relleno - it was good.
