Charlie's Chicken on Sheridan — Restaurant in Tulsa

It comes as great sadness for me to write this review. I have waited and gave this Charlie ' 3 extra visits before going to Google and writing this. I ate at the Owasso location with my boss a few months back. It was so AMAZING at lunch that I went home to my husband and said "hey, you have got to try Charlies Chicken with me" so THAT NIGHT we went to this location. And it was great too! We went back a few nights later, and great again. We had 3 or 4 more great nights. Then it was just good a few times. Then it went to okay a few nights and it didn't take long to have an awful night. And we said never again! Yet we waited a few weeks and said let's give them another shot. Gross again. So now we waited a couple months because the last time put a bad taste in our mouth literally! So tonight we went back wanting the great chicken place we had once had and it wasn't awful but it was okay. Maybe my husband would say awful. His catfish "on catfish night" was dry, old and gross. The okra was just as old with a funky taste. His mashed potatoes were the best thing. My chicken chunks were pretty fresh and yummie I let my husband help me eat them so he would get full. The potato wedges were okay not fresh by any means. And my corn dogger "nuggets" as I call them were old, cold and had the same weird taste my husband's okra had. We both tried eachothers food. So maybe they were fried in the same old oil or something. And to top it off I came home and within the hour was sick and can't get too far from the bathroom. This will be an eventful...

I used to enjoy Charlie's Chicken but it seems that the quality has gone downhill a bit over the years. I got one of the "snack" combos that offers chicken, a drink, and one side. The chicken was decent, however two of the three chunks were a little dry and one of the three seemed very undercooked. I got potato wedges for the side and those were good. However my main issue was the honey mustard dipping sauce I ordered. It was absolutely disgusting. They used to give pre-packaged containers of Kraft honey mustard, but now give nondescript clear plastic ramekins containing a honey-mustard-esque substance. It tasted like honey mustard cut with ketchup. It ruined everything that touched it. Considering I can't eat chicken nuggets without dipping sauce, I probably won't be coming back to Charlie's Chicken any time soon.

If you go, stay away from the honey mustard and maybe even stay away from the chicken itself. It's not that great and you can get better chicken from other places at a comparable price.

On the other hand the man in the drive thru window seemed very friendly so...

First of all let me say, I LOVE Charlie's Chicken! And I don't believe I've ever had an issue at any of the locations near me...until today. I went to work without breakfast and was really hungry by lunch time. My go-to fast food is ALWAYS Charlie's if possible. But today, it was terrible. I got the chicken fried steak and it was good, tho I didn't receive a knife to cut it with, so that made it a little difficult (I ate in my car). I got corn dodgers instead of my regular side. Bad move. They were hard and tasteless. The dinner roll, which is usually one of the best parts of the meal, was so hard and dry I couldn't eat any more than the first bite I took. Plus, it didn't have the usual sweet flavor. It kinda tasted like a crusty old sock might taste. It was only 11:45 when I went thru the drive thru...so you would think the food might be fresher that early into the lunch time. I think I'll pass on the 61st and Sheridan location from now on.
