Fat Guy's Burger Bar — Restaurant in Tulsa

The woman working tonight, 10/26, with short purple hair should not have a job. We arrived at Fat Guys at 8:45, Apple Maps says they close at 10, the door does say 9. Either way, 15 minutes until close. I have heard such great things about the Fat & Juicy and have been wanting to try it. I tried to order that and the woman said “sorry, can’t, it’s too late, takes 20 minutes to make, but I’ll give you a cheeseburger.” I didn’t want a cheeseburger, my second choice would’ve been the Peanut Butter & Bacon, but she told me that she already entered it into the system so I had to have the cheeseburger. Like, ok nice, I HAVE to pay for something I never asked for in the first place? Cool. My roommate then proceeded to order the SWEET CAROLINE, which is a 1 lb pattie, BBQ pulled pork, adobo sauce, sweet & spicy slaw and she added pineapple, but the Fat & Juicy which is just two patties made with butter and cheese in between them takes 20 minutes to make? Whatever. My roommate then asked what kind of milkshakes they had and the woman said “sorry, can’t get a milkshake either, only fountain drinks and burgers” while there’s 3 guys sitting at the bar drinking and still ordering food. She said that was because “they came in before 8:45.” I used to love Fat Guys, their food and service has always been prime but not today. I don’t know what happened to people after COVID but we’ve been receiving terrible service at over half the places we go now. No one wants to work, especially not until closing time. We also asked for ranch and strawberry ketchup, before we left, we checked the bag and there was neither so we asked the woman again for some. She had been doing something in the trash can, I’m not sure what exactly. Either way, she was touching trash and then proceeded to grab the sauce and THROW IT IN OUR BAG OF FOOD. I’ve been writing this review while we were driving home. Just opened up my burger and took a bite and when I pulled away there was a string of hair in the piece of burger that was in my MOUTH. I’m horrified, disgusted, and I will NEVER be returning to Fat Guys on 79th & Memorial. And after further inspection, just like someone said 9 months ago, the burger meat is gray and looks like it’s been sitting in a pot of boiling water. I think school cafeteria meat was better than this trash. I wouldn’t even feed this to my dog.This is something I would’ve never in a million years expected from this establishment. Not to sound like many others on here but, here is the story. I have eaten here several times over the years, inside the establishment. Food's great, vibes great. Just a cool unique little burger establishment. The Take Out experience is Wildly different. I get that the way you severe some of your items doesn't flow with the carry out model. So, if you are going to offer carry out, whether that's Door Dash, or just pick up, try to bag items that make sense, and others, appropriately. A half pound of delicious fries, thrown in a crappy bag, well that doesn't even last the ten minute drive home without leaving grease everywhere. Again, I get it, you're a restaurant, not a drive thru but show some love to your patrons that may want to capture a little Fat Guys dining experience, at home, without the mess and hassle. Food was prepared well, and was cold. Whether its a timing issue, whatever it is, you guys need to fix your Take Out situation.

All that being negative, this is a great place to Go sit and enjoy some unique burgers that are a tradition here in Tulsa since they have been open. I thought it was interesting that some one mentioned or, commented on the cost. This location has a Wendy's literally across the parking lot. Wendy's will charge you the exact same money, and have Nowhere Near the quality, quantity, or uniqueness...

So I went to the one on Memorial yesterday there was a blonde young lady who served me at about 2: 38 p. M. She was really rude. she brought my food and set it on the counter which was multiple orders with no bag I asked her for bag she blew under her breath went and got me a bag and then threw it on the counter next to my food then I asked her for some ranch and bleu cheese she assured me that it was already some in there already (in a rude manner might I add) so I get back to work and lo and behold there is only ranch when I specifically asked for blue cheese she really sucks as a sales person and as a people person I run a business myself and I would never allow my employees to treat the customers that keep our business going that way props to the Cook the food was bomb but you need to get somebody to represent the front of your store a lot better than she did.

"Update so I came back (7/17/18) dispit the rude blonde from before. The lady today was great but I had to sit in there for 10min(made my order piad and strated to wait for them to come bake and say sorry I "just" found out that they didn't have what I paid for so unfortunately I had get a refund......how do you run out of the food you sell and how do you not inform your employees.....not cool fat...
