Had heard about this place and was in the area after running an errand to the bank of America nearby at 11am.
Small menu but not a problem. Better to do a few things really well rather than many things poorly.
Ordered lunch portion gyro dinner served with baba ghanoush and tzatziki sauce rice and a piece of pita bread and a kafta kabob sandwich.
Gryo meat was tasty with good amount of crisp to it. It was served over a rice that was lacking in flavor. Pouring the tzatziki sauce over it helped pep it up. The baba ghanoush however was amazing. It is pureed roasted eggplant and tahini. One of the best I have had. This is a stand out 5 star item everyone should try.
Kafta kabob sandwich was very good. The vegetables were fresh and the kafta kabob meat was amazing. This is what I look for in Mediterranean food. A strong spicy punch full of flavor wonderfully contrasted by the cool tzatziki sauce.
Only one person was working so best to go early before they get busy. Pricing is very affordable. You could go everyday for lunch and grab a sandwich and not break the bank. My new go to place for a Mediterranean meal. Going to have to try more items...
Read moreThe best Mediterranean food in Tulsa. The awards and recognition on the wall, backs that statement up! Sam is the man!
My wife chose the Greek Village Salad with Falafel. A delicious vegie combination tossed with a perfect house made dressing, pita, three large Falafels crowned with hummus.
I had the dinner portion Kafta Kabob. This fabulous meal started with a fresh bowl of tabouli. An award-winning fresh salad of parsley, onion and tomato. It was stunning, unbelievably delicious. Then there was the Char grilled, meaty, seasoned Kafta Kabobs. Wow! It just keeps getting better. With that was the perfect Baba ghanoush. It was done right. Smoky background flavor, butter creamy smooth in texture and enough fresh garlic to provide a little bite. Magnificent meals.
Before we left, I talked to Sam about the Chicken Kabob. He explained that it was cooked with three different types of pepper sauce, fiery and flavorful. My next meal here!
I have tried many Greek, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurants in Tulsa, Helen of Troy...
Read moreAs someone thats traveled quite extensively and not as a tourist, I'm keen to try anything and everything. I drug my older sister into the restaurant demanding we get something Mediterranean and was excited to find some where local. Sadly, our meals both were very unimpressive. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but I was expecting something that didn't appear to be processed somewhere else and then plated and served at the restaurant as freshly prepared food. The Salad that came with my dish, had the same appeal as a high school cafeteria tray of salad. My Gyros, which I've had all different variants of this dish, had all the appeal of the afore mentioned high school cafeteria tray entree. The actual taste, texture and presentation were lackluster at best. On a plus note the on hand manager/chef was very friendly and the staff was very polite. I wanted to be more positive but as was the case with my meal, this is the best I...
