We don't live close to any location, but happened to be in the area for a doctor appointment and had been wanting to try it. Ordered online and chose half baked to take home for dinner later.

The good: I ordered a Duke and it was honestly pretty amazing.

The bad: as mentioned, was in the area for doc appt. Both of us are having mobility issues (one on crutches and the other in a walking boot after foot surgery). Ordering online I was asked for car make, model and color. When we arrived we parked in a spot with a sign that said "curbside pickup" and instructed us to click link in email to check in online or call the store and let them know we were there. We took all of this to mean they would be bringing our order out to us, because why do all that otherwise? This was great since walking isn't particularly easy for either of us at the moment.

We waited 30 min (25 min past expected ready time). Finally, husband hobbled in on his bad foot to ask what was going on and said we'd been waiting for curbside pickup for a long time. According to him, the guy behind the counter was just playing on his phone, shrugged and said yeah, it's for pick up. You're supposed to pick it up.

If that is the policy, they should make it a little more clear on the sign. Why ask for vehicle info and to check in online with a sign that specifies curbside if the expectation is customers come into the store to get it? Either way, dude seemed completely put out by being interrupted from his phone.

Also, husband ordered a build your own with 2 cheeses and pepperoni. There definitely wasn't any pepperoni, and best we could tell only 1 type of cheese. He was pretty disappointed by the...

Ok, So I've loved Sauce on the side from the start. But my girlfriend and myself have had two horrible experiences in a row at this location, and it wasn't because of the food. Tonight, Monday September 15, we came to eat about 8:20, all the chairs were up, so I called from the parking lot to see if the restaurant was open. The girl that answered the phone confirmed the restaurant was open, and in a rude tone said she'd put some chairs down then hung up on me while I was still speaking. We almost just went somewhere else, but we decided not to since we already drove from south county. We go in and she takes our order and was still being very short with us. The staff was also definitely glaring at us. It was an extremely uncomfortable and awkward experience for us both and the second bad experience we had because of this same girl. The last time we went before this, we arrived an hour before closing. Before we even ordered, the same girl behind the counter looked at us and said "Are you dining in?" we said yes, then she says in a very rude tone "You know we close at 9, right?" As someone who has worked in the industry in multiple popular and reputable restaurants in St. Louis I find this behavior horrifying, especially for the owners. This person should not be representing this great establishment. Her behavior is absolutely wild. We will not be going back to this location, which is inconvenient because I don't always feel like driving...

I am perhaps blasphemous in preferring calzones over pizza when given the choice, so discovering Sauce on the Side a few years back was a major dining breakthrough. I came to love this restaurant after several stops at their locations downtown and near Tower grove, so when they put in this location in Valley Park/Manchester right near where I lived at the time, I was thrilled. This particular location is on the bottom floor of a high-end/high-rise apartment complex and offers a similar casual but hip vibe that I have experienced at the other locations.

You can't really go wrong with the food itself, as long as you do indeed like calzones, and as long as you are not being health-conscious that day! I have enjoyed trying their more adventurous options, but there are multiple calzones that fall within the more traditional Italian category. It's a great value, given that for 10 bucks you can be absolutely stuffed or you can stretch it over 2 meals. Whether picking it up to go or dining in, Sauce on the Side is always near the top of the list for food options, no matter what part of...

I've lived in Manchester for a few years and am located very close by this location, but I'd heard mixed opinions so it took me this long to try...and I'm really impressed! I got a custom calzone with bacon, pepperoni, and procel added in with the other cheeses, and it was very tasty (and a perfect portion size.) The only reason I'm not rating 5 stars is because the nutella and banana dessert calzone would have been such a hit if the nutella didnt run out like water, but unfortunately, it did, and left us with warm banana calzone. Dipping it wasn't really working because the nutella would just drip right off - no idea why it was like this, but that was a wholly disappointing experience, especially compared to the other! All in all, absolutely worth trying if you're wondering and much as I did.

If you are looking for something other than pizza, try this place out. It’s delicious. It’s really good food. You can stay traditional with with your calzone, or really go crazy. Tonight, I had the travel channel special and it did not disappoint. I tried a bite of my sons January special, which was an egg/hash browns/sausage concoction and it was equally delicious but in a totally different way. I wish they served regular coke products, but this isn’t a deal breaker for me. They also have alcohol for those that wish to partake. I really love this place.

The Magic Carpet Ride is a winner, filled with cheese and mushrooms with melted garlic butter on the side. My recommendation is, if you go with someone and you can agree on a calzone, split one. Then order the spinach artichoke "bite sides." It comes with a pesto butter sauce. It's more than enough for 2, and that's coming from a big-guy. Local bottled beer and local sodas on tap. I just read they opened their 10th store in 10 years, so if you haven't tried it yet, you're overdue.
