Denny's — Restaurant in Tyler

This place gets pretty bad reviews on Trip Advisor and here. I don't know if it was old management (because the bad reviews are a while ago) or what changed, but we had one of the best experiences we've ever had at a Denny's here.

If management is reading - we went on Thursday, July 5th, in the evening. Bri was there, and another woman and the cook. Sorry, I didn't get their names. They all should get raises and recognition, because they are a great face for that restaurant.

All of our food was hot and fresh, tasted great. Our waitress was very, very attentive. Even to the point she questioned my husband about whether the coffee was hot, and when he said yes it's fine, she put her hands around the cup to make sure he wasn't just being nice! I think she was newer, I heard Bri explaining things. We couldn't tell she was new at all. She was fast and always there when we needed her. The restaurant was practically empty, she could have just yelled across the room or sat down somewhere on her phone, like we've seen in plenty of places, but she didn't.

At one point, I was telling her about the wildlife safari we'd been on . Bri heard us, so she came over to hear all about it and see photos. She said she wanted to go for her 18th birthday - what? 18? This girl at 17 years old was nicer and more attentive than adults we've had to deal with at Denny's! She was working hard the entire time we were there. Then, the cook overheard and he came out too. The five of us had a conversation for 15, 20 minutes. They were like friends. That's what you expect from a small town Denny's.

Went there to get a bite to eat hand one of the new skillet the one with the fish it was very awesome I modified it because I wanted one with the broccoli and potatoes and the cheese sauce with the chicken but I did not want the chicken I asked for them to substitute it for the fish and the server was awesome she's gave me the one with the chicken and brought one with the fish and they forgot the cheese sauce and I had to remind her and she went and got me a cheese sauce and some cheese to put on it as well she kept my coffee cups field and did an awesome job for a new server I will recommend this Denny's to anybody that would like to go to Denny's and the Texas area Gun Barrel City Texas Denny's Rock and that's very very good food good servers and the manager that was on duty did a good job as well they kept me happy what does service the food was hot only thing I had an issue with was that I ordered a senior meal my guested and they forgot to bring out the salad first which is understanding for a new server to forget to do this but she did take care of the issue took care of us and I do still recommend people to go to Gun Barrel City Texas and try their Denny's out there they are being remodeled and going to open up in February sometimes I do have the picture of the closing and when it's supposed to open up on here so people are going to see a new Denny's a new look new Apple sphere and I hope everybody enjoys seeing it I am also going to try to get a job there as well as I used to be employed by...

I've been to my share of Dennys' over the years but the one on Hwy 69 in Lindale is by far the best I've been to in a long time. A lot of this had to do with Robin, our waitress. From the moment my boyfriend and I entered she acknowledged our presence and got us settled in a seat that we preferred. There were no long waits either from the time walked through the door until we sat down and had our drinks ordered. In addition we only had to make eye-contact to get her attention, and she would walk over to see what we wanted. Also she didn't forget or take forever to fulfill our request for things like extra napkins, etc. She also didn't needlessly "hover" either or interrupt constantly to see if we needed anything else. I might add the food at this Dennys was the best that I have had a restaurant in a long time and it was done exactly the way we ordered it. Robin was also friendly, knew the menu and would help us find exactly what we desired and compare choices that were available. Finally, I want to add she has a good sense of humor and I mean this in the nicest way possible and I told her she was the live entertainment with her wit and disposition.
