Wow! Like the other reviewer; where do I begin. BIG, BIG disappointment. First hours of operation are not consistent. Based on information on website they close at 11:00pm, went there at 9:00pm and they were closed. No updated business hours on door, so call before going because closing hours change. I was excited to try the subs, finding out that the owner was from my home town in Michigan. Being familiar with the original “Captain Nemo’s”, I was hoping that the subs I grew up on had came to a city near me. Boy was I wrong, REAL wrong. While the two workers were friendly and the esthetics of the restaurant welcoming the food lacked everything from flavor to presentation. We ordered two 16” pizza subs with ham that cost $40. It was a waste of money. Subways has a better sub, and I suggest sticking to a Publix subs that cost half as much for a better tasting product. The bread was taken straight from a plastic bag; not fresh, toasted or warmed. The sub itself was made using precooked beef patties, tiny sliced pepperonis, each 1/2 sub had 2 slices of thin provolone cheese and the ham was two thinly sliced pieces $3 extra per whole sub, thick flavorless tomato paste, tasted like it was straight from the can The cooked asked me if I wanted it topped with everything and I said yes. I didn’t get onions as listed on the menu; and one tomato cut in half for each 1/2 of sub. I guess the cook doesn’t know how to cook the meat for a whole sub together because he cooked the two whole subs as four halves. The subs were so tasteless, that we scrapped the inside out of the roll, just to salvage something and eat something that we paid so much for. Sad to say, “Been there, done that, won’t be going back”. I really wanted to support a business owner from my home town, but the quality, taste and PRiCE of the food won’t let me. The prices for the food is entirely too much for the quality and portion of food that is being sold. Hope the owner read this review; and make changes if they want a successful and sustaining business. This is why I writing a lengthy review....
Read moreThis food had no seasoning whatsoever. The best item I received was the yams! I ordered the wing dinner with lima beans, potato salad, and yams. Although the menu says the chicken is cooked to order, that chicken was not even crispy and it had no taste but the measeley salt they put on after the fact! It's like they took the chicken, cleaned it, and didn't add any seasoning until after it came out the fryer. What's the point of seasoning the food beforehand when you have no intention of seasoning it until the last second. Pointless. That is the most crucial part in the flavor process, and this was clearly missed. Not only that, the lima beans were crunchy, and that potato salad was not even mediocre, it was less than! I even had an upset stomach and my throat swelled up afterwards. There are by far better soul food restaurants in the area, but this was most definitely a waste of...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Don't waste your time or money. The owner is SUPER RUDE TO HIS EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS. Then what we order and wanted is not what he wanted us to have. If I could give a zero stars I would. There is a way you run a business and that's not it. Sorry but not Sorry I have standard....I'll stick with Kings wings and food my way. Oh yea Mr owner....if I order Thousands Island for a salad then I guess I would have received it with my order. I ask for my sub to be toasted not a chopped bologna sandwich. Treat your employees and customers better this place will...
