We decided to order lunch and choice a familiar restaurant. I was advised that my salad would be charged an additional charge for requesting ranch in place of the house dressing that it comes with. (Carry out order) When I arrived I inquired in person about the up charge on dressing for individuals that don’t like Italian dressing. The server Angel was by far the rudest individual I have had in my many years of eating out. She quickly jumped defensive because I inquired about the charge. We had eaten here many times and had no knowledge or mention about getting the preferred dressing of your choice. I made the comment while paying my money that I was going to have to write review on this. She got that much more agitated and starting mouthing about a1.50 charge. Excuse me I do believe this is my 1.50 and it wasn’t that I didn’t have it I just wanted to have and understanding on the charge. I went on to ask her was she having a bad day. Her response was no but seem like you are and was very rude. She laid the receipt on the counter and said I need you to sign the receipt ( I had went and sat down waiting on my order) and I told her I would after I received my food. She walked around the corner and I could here her talking about me ( the paying customer that keep local restaurants afloat) and at that point my trust of my food being tampered with was high. I stopped a waiter walking by and requested my money back ( I will not ever pay again before getting my order). Angel comes around the corner with my bag of food and I explained I was no longer interested in the order that was placed and requested a refund. She said you can’t get a refund because the food has already been prepared and the cook in the kitchen said the same thing. I asked to speak with a manager and she responded she was the manager. I went on to explain since they didn’t want to refund my money I would dispute through my credit card company. I didn’t leave with the food or a signed receipt. Angel stated they would then call the police and file a report 🙄.My advice would be to the Owner/ Manager if you don’t want your loyal customers to leave I would definitely get my employees trained better on customer service and dealing with the public. I will definitely take my business to Cotton wood in Troy...
Read moreEdit April 25th: As promised, I said we’d give another chance. The food is definitely back to that Moustos quality. We haven’t been able to experience inside dining with COVID-19. But our take out orders have been excellent.
My husband and I have been regular customers for 2 years now. Literally eating here on average once a month and sometimes once a week. We have spent quite a bit in your establishment. What we experienced last night was NOT Moustos quality. The food nor the service was. When we walked in, I noticed I didn’t recognize anyone. We sat at a table for 15 minutes before our drink orders were even taken. When my food came out, the waitress just stopped putting cheese on my food even though I didn’t tell her to. She also didn’t bother asking if my husband wanted any. She had made the statement she’s from the Paris establishment to some other guests. They didn’t have their tables arranged in knowing who was going to handle what. Also one of your employees made the comment to other guests that ALL of your Union City employees walked out on you. You NEED those employees back ASAP. They are what made dining at Moustos such a wonderful experience. After last night, we don’t plan on going back for a long time. And I feel if other loyal customers experienced what we did last night, they will probably do the same. I will consider changing this review if you would get your former employees back OR make sure the new ones have Moustos quality food and service that we are used to. The alfredo sauce was no where near as good as it usually is and they skimped on it meaning my pasta was dry. I’ve NEVER had this problem before. It was a main reason I preferred Moustos over Olive Garden. Please please fix this. Last nights visit, honestly made me sad and...
Read moreIt really is a nice place, lots of wood but like so many, a little dark. As usual we ate at the bar, the service was okay, our bartender disappeared a lot, partly a system issue with having to go get water from somewhere else. Also suggest sitting on the left side where the high tops are since there's a waiting area with sofas behind the right side, a perfectly annoying little pocket for parents to not control their kids while waiting for a table. I think the bartender has to go out the right side and walk around to service the high-top tables, a little design flaw. We started with the bread, salad and soup, which all came at the same time. A large salad bowl was brought out for us to split which was good, but I realized I didn't get asked what kind of dressing I wanted, and it had a sweeter Italian Dressing on it, again, good but not what I would have preferred. The soup was lacking in the Minestrone, it was like rich tomato soup with two overcooked noodles and a concept of vegetables. Minnie had the Baked Ziti with copious amount of cheese added. On the other hand, I had the Filet and Lobster combo but ordered off the menu to get the Spinach and Romano Cheese Sauce from the Chicken Menu! While they couldn't make the filet "Pittsburgh Style", it was excellent with a delicious wood smoke flavor and the tiny lobster was divine! The Florentine was made with a perfect, silky cheese sauce loaded with flavor. All in, I'd give this visit a 4.5, but for under $100 with tip, will definitely go back. If nothing else, it was nice to go to a real focused Italian Restaurant that doesn't sell beef sandwiches...
