This hotel has poor customer service at the front desk. Just drive to the Martin, TN location. (Thank me later.) I am a Hilton Diamond member: There was no, « Thank you for being a Hilton Diamond member » at check-in. Receptionists are Dry, Day #1 Ordered a snack from snack station, « We don’t do receipts. » Since I MUST have an acct. of ALL expenses during travel, I requested a receipt again, and was given a sticky note with the price on it. The women stated they can’t print receipts, BUT, I’ve stayed at about 500+ properties, and I KNOW better…So, I had to call the Hilton Diamond hotline. Hotline called the front desk, for the ladies to learn how to print a separate receipt from the official folio on DAY #2, The fridge/icebox went out, on DAY# 3 (this costed me money, considering I had a nice dinner in the fridge BEFORE getting off of work) If that wasn’t enough, (also DAY#3) the front desk (wearing braids), just gave me a blank stare when I informed her. No apologies, nothing. I asked her to let someone know in consideration for the next guest, at which time she FINALLY made a note of it, and…Drumroll « We don’t do late check-out » when I called to request if late check-out was possible. DAY #5 My bf suggested I call back because I’m a Diamond member and I’m supposed to have the consideration for late check-out. So, I called back, and informed (dry) receptionist that I was Hilton Diamond and wanted clarity for Diamond members. Lady stated, « We were told not to honor that, anymore. » I requested specifics again. What not to honor? Late check-out period or Hilton Diamond Late Check-out, to which she replied, « Period. » No one gets Late check-out here. We have a LOT of ppl. checking in, today. Check-out is at 11. This is not abt the policy. The complaint is regarding the LACK of explanation or empathy. No reasoning. Just rote memory responses. Let me be clear, I’ve interacted w/4 people in the past 4 days. Re-train, Re-hire, and/or Pay for an experienced receptionist. Congratulations Hampton Inn Union CITY, you have RUINED my work week, as a traveling medical professional. I’ve spent tens of THOUSANDS of dollars over the years and have enjoyed being a Hilton honors member. This hotel WILL RUIN your work week. Not b/c it’s dirty, but b/c the ppl. Working the front desk, ALL of them, need to be retrained. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE and just commit...
Read moreAfter a horrendous stay at the Hampton in Dyersburg the night before, this Hampton was beyond great in comparison!||It is newer, and while not as nice as the Hampton in Paris, TN, it wasn’t too far behind in quality.||The staff member at check-in was less than enthusiastic, but still at least gave us our Honors waters when we asked for it (we didn’t press for the snack) and answered our questions.|However the woman at check-out was fantastic despite the lobby being a zoo, so kudos to her for a great attitude!||The room was fairly clean, although some towels we did not use since they had hairs from previous guests in them. We also found a lot of crumbs, pieces of Doritos, etc. on the carpet and in the desk chair. We get that a lot of families with young kids probably stay here since this is a nearby hotel to The Discovery Center, but by the amount of food debris throughout it didn’t appear to have been vacuumed well, if at all, prior to our stay.||The AC unit was a bit dirty, but not terrible. It did work well thankfully.||And the bathroom/closet sliding door…ugh. I don’t blame this particular hotel for that, they’re not the ones who designed it. But a note to Hilton Corporate, please stop using these doors. They’re terrible. This one was worse than some of the others because it didn’t have a real handle on either side…just that pocket door “handle” that is not ideal for moving such a heavy door. I’d be nervous if we had a young kid trying to manage that door. I’d be afraid they’d smash their fingers (or somebody else’s) in it. Not ideal.||This location does have self-serve laundry too should you need it. Card or coins. It’s on the second floor, left down the hallway, last door on your right. You’ll need your room key access it of course. We used it for one load, and the machines worked well. ||Breakfast was pretty good, not as great as Paris, but still good. Although we received a big smile and a heartfelt good morning from the lady working in this area, so kudos to her too!||Yes, we’d consider staying here again if we returned...
Read moreWent to this hotel over the weekend, as my Uncle passed. Upon checking out, front desk called our phone to let us know that we left my child’s Teddy bear on the room. About 2 hours passed ( I’m thinking so they could make sure we were a distance away from the hotel) we received another call telling us 3 pillows were missing from our room. I asked them wouldn’t they have seen that when they went in the room and found the bear? They replied, they don’t check the whole room at first, and the bear could’ve been in the bathroom, I asked them 2 hours later after you found the bear you noticed pillows missing. I told them To check the cameras because we didn’t have the pillows. They later stated they would have to wait until Friday when the GM comes to check the cameras, and that they would get ahold of me when the gm checks. Saturday came, hadn’t heard anything, so I call up there no answer, called again later that day, no answer. Called a few times on Sunday as well, no answer. Mind you the receptionist told me they have caller I.d. On their phones. So I finally called from my brothers phone go has a Georgia area code. Guess what? They answered. I asked them did they check the cameras. The receptionist stated to hold on she had to call the Gm. She came back on the phone with me and stated, the Gm said there wasn’t any need to check the cameras because we could’ve stuffed the pillows in our bag. How did the GM know we had a bag if he didn’t check the camera and we went out the side door? Also, I asked how do you know that none of the housekeepers took them, or misplaced them without checking the cameras? It’s ok, my cousin is a lawyer in Tennessee. Hampton you will be hearing from her. This is ridiculous, I never been so humiliated in my life, and for the GM “not to check the cameras” is so unprofessional. I bet you didn’t know I have a major google following (see attached) watch who you falsely accuse. Do better Hampton before you charge someone $75 per pillow without proof they took the pillows. Very...
