Eastgate Shakes (Everyday Nutrition) — Restaurant in Union Township

Eastgate Shakes[ES] is ALL the craze. Friends and family raved of the place, so I had to give it a go. Grabbed myself a refresher paired with a Twix Shake. Sounds wonderful. Taste? Begs to differ. The pretty blues and purples in my "E-Tea" paired nicely with the chocolate swirl of the Twix Shake. Aesthetically, I was picking up on what everyone else was putting down. Taste, on the other hand... Fine, but definitely not worth the mouthful of Herbalife protein powder mixed in everything. And that's not considering the hefty bill. Round 1, ES failed me. No bother, hit or miss, off days happen, I get it. Round 2? Açai Bowl. Expecting a thick bowl of blue blended berries, topped with an array of flavorful fruits to mix in, I ended up ordering a crunchy monkey. What I got was a bowl with the consistency of melted ice cream, unexpected and unwanted coconut shavings, and a bunch of hidden toppings I couldn't even describe because they had sunk into the thin mixture and nearly disappeared. This is an HERBALIFE establishment. Notice they’ve tried to hide that fact. (There is teeny tiny print on the menu admitting it.) This is a predatory MLM. Herbalife has countless lawsuits against them, including for damaging peoples’ livers, nevermind the fact that their business model is a scam. This and other MLMs prey upon people (disproportionately women and minorities) and get them to put themselves into debt while their upline takes in the profits. My granddaughter had a drink from them yesterday at a craft show at CNE HS. I was a vendor so didn’t get time to go check it out. She loved it so much she wanted a second one and since grandma spoils her, well sure. I can’t have much sugar so I just tasted hers and it was so good!
