La Fogata Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Union

I walked into this Mexican restaurant expecting a normal meal, but little did I know I was about to battle for my life against oversized tomato slice that turned into the attack of the killer tomato. Seriously, I ordered a taco salad , not a tomato salad! These things were so massive that I had to double-check if I had mistakenly ordered a caprese platter at a Mexican-Italian fusion spot.

Don’t get me wrong the food was good. But when I got my taco salad , there it right before me the monumental tomato slice I’ve ever seen. I felt like I was trying to eat a burger that had lost its way and landed in Mexico.

By the end of the meal, I had a newfound respect for tomatoes and a strong suspicion that the chef either really loves tomatoes or lost a bet with a farmer. Would I come back? Absolutely! But next time, I’m bringing a chainsaw to cut these...

Very poor customer service, sat for over 15 mins at the bar where no one else was at before even being asked what we wanted to drink. Waitress was rude from the start, when my brother sat his ID on the counter she said he threw it at her. She also preceeded to tell my brother to shut up because he sat at a friends table talking to him and they accused him of harrasing customers.. This place also smelled of smoke and wasn't very clean. Had dust all over the bar and something that looked to be like fungus around the beer taps. Will not ever go back and do not recommend to anyone there is another Mexican restaurant in town with a way better atmosphere and friendly service just up the road from...

Improved washroom and well done maintenance makes a small change for the better! As for the food: Portions are large. Food is average and some selections (most chicken dishes) are good. The staff has changed is not nearly as accommodating as they used to be. Thats why they went from 4 to 3 stars. Prices are also up between 20 to 30% on some dishes.
