I live out of state, so I haven’t been to Chong Wah in 20 years. I was on my way to Fulton, Missouri and had to make a pit stop in St. Louis to get me some fried rice at my old stomping ground. Ooo, wee, was my Special Fried Rice delicious! I couldn’t even get back on the road! I devoured the box in my lap in the parking lot! Only thing different was that they have individual red pepper packets in plastic instead of the hand-creased and folded parchment paper. I miss those little nostalgic packets. Thanks for some great food and great memories.

This place was recommended by 3 completely different people today as the best Chinese in the area. One person pointed out the beef and broccoli which I ordered. It truly was superb with hints of ingredients that only a passionate chef could pull off. The Saint Paul was indeed the best I ever had. Finally, the typical St Louis style fried rice was just alright. The service was very fast and the lovely lady was very friendly and patient. It should be noted that it is a cash only place.

Was craving some noodles so I randomly stopped here and ended up having a cheap, good meal. I didn't know it was cash only but I had 5 bucks so I got noodles and pork. I was a quarter short but they said it was ok, which was very nice. Ended up with a generous serving of pork and noodles in a tasty broth and couldn't be more satisfied.

I've been going to this Chong Wah for years. I was back and forth due to the fact my food started tasting funny, yet fresh butt what is this smell. Real funky like. So I opt for Noodles from now on. Ordered vegetable noodles and my noodles smelt the same way. I don't know if yal not changing your bowls for leaving rice sitting in them for too long. It didn't use to smell like this now your restaurant starting to smell. I'm posting this now because I ordered a plain ham vegetable StPaul and it was burnt, I brought it back in and you put lettuce, tomato and mayo on it. I said plain, so I guess you were in your feelings because you know me and what I order. So, you gave me my food and it was smashed. Is it a black issue? Because you come here and get support from Black people faithfully, be it: Beauty Supply, Chinese food, Nails, etc and I definitely lived by your Chinese restaurant, and was happy. Then how the world turns it's no more. I'm very disappointed in you because your going down in your restaurant like your cousins across the street. That is why I started coming to Chong Wah in the first place, due to word of mouth of another customer, now I'm good on Chong Wah yal food quality...

Let me start out saying this place once served great food and I've been coming to this place for year's on and off, with that being said it's really going down or went down it's smelly, boxes everywhere just right down dirty they used to keep it some what decent but not I'm sad and disappointed of the quality of the food and the atmosphere of this place but one thing for sure they keep going up on the prices my food was overly cooked I had to take it back and they still didn't get it right I will no longer spend money at a place that serve bad quality food! with things being so expensive these days I refuse to except anything less I will not be returning back to this place, please invest money into your place and not make money off the poor people in the neighborhood and serve food that's worth coming back too!!! I label this place truly of hole in the wall they can do...

The food is decent for the price, but nothing amazing. It's the most affordable Chinese food in the area. They keep the costs low, and for that it's cash only. The woman usually running the counter is very direct and business-only. She does make good suggestions if you ask her. I usually get the sweet & sour chicken. I recommend getting the sweet and sour individually and not the combo, so you can add the sauce to it yourself. The combo gets a bit wet and messy when it comes all mixed in together for you already. Not really a spot to eat there, so it's not quite a dine-in establishment. Take the food and go home with it. Your experience may be hit or miss. I'd say it's average if you're needing a cheap food craving, but there are probably better options if you're willing...
