I like Costco because it usually seems that the employees want to be there, or have enough sense to just passively grin, listen, and nod, quietly reflecting a great company’s legacy through their actions. Then, there were the idiots I experienced at the self checkout last night. Somehow they made it take much longer than it would have without them, and between themselves had a loud conversation about some items in my cart (or inspired by items in my cart) that they need to buy themselves. Really rude and idiotic. Wouldn’t have seemed idiotic at all if they had quietly done their jobs and not actively doing things without focusing on what they are doing to the point I had to let her check me out on two receipts because she was fumbling about and NOT AT ALL occupied with what me the customer was doing, just engrossed in a stupid endless conversation with her coworker.
So she missed items, had to ring up two tickets on a total of six items, and pitched an attitude.
I mean with what I spend at Costco, and the years of doing it and years of long drives to Costcos in various suburbs, you could say those lousy employees are (still?) the exception; but honestly it was an eye opening experience. Also not like U City is an urban metropolis. For all the positive impressions Costco employees have made over the years, these two ladies really engaged me with a negative one.
Also dirty countertops where you need to place your merchandise in the Self Checkout area. (the scales where you put it are wet and have food from open package on it)... totally ignored by the yelling cowboy staff. Also ignored by the ones offering to scan your merchandise. Hard to give them some rags to wipe it up?
4 Months later, I've been back to see the vision center a few times and they have provided excellent service and products, as is normal for Costco. Maybe because my recent visits were centered around the eye center, but maybe also because it's changed, the Costco seems less aggressive in general. Maybe the employees changed or maybe they are new employees. I'm changing my rating from 1 to 3 stars. ...
Read moreHi all this review is about the AT&T offered at the Costco Warehouses…please buyer beware..the sales person assured me that to switch I would keep the same plan, features, and cost of $85 which we were paying for two phone lines..also promised RN discounts and other things…the catch, which was not mentioned, was that the cost was $85 “Per line” and the account had to be in my daughters name as the main person to apply the RN discount..the first bill was $315 & we were told our trade in for our 2 phones was not applied yet & would take 2 months for the credit & we had to wait 2 months to put my daughter as the primary customer..so we switched it over and wam ..omg..our bill was due on the 10th of each month…$315, $115, $139.95, then because we switched they sent out another bill for $191 in my daughters name which was due Oct 17, 2023..we had just paid the $139.95 on Oct 10, 2023. and the rep told me we could not pay off the new phones early, which turned out to also be a lie. also you only get the trade in credit if you remain with them the entire time of the contract..I was livid..I felt stupid and taken advantage of. They claimed because we switched the primary account holder is the reason we received another bill in October..so basically $331 for October’s bill total…this company constantly deceives people about their plans and things offered..I just want to warn people so they won’t be caught in this devious AT&T company like I did..to go from paying $80 a month with my 10 year carrier to not knowing how much each month the bill will be..,I only switched because I had damaged my phone and needed another and I thought it was a great deal..bitten by the devil of company...
Read moreI have been a Costco member for 30+ years and I never complained about its services. The Tire service was disappointed or actually a nightmare at this location. After hitting a nail on the road nearby, I checked in my vehicle to the Tire department for warranty repair service. I was advised it would take 60 to 90 minutes to get it fixed because I did not have an appointment. After waiting for 90+ minutes, there was still no signs of progress. I spoke to the Tire manager asking for the status and updates. I told him (1) this was an accident and therefore I did not have an appointment, (2) I was 1000 miles away from home and needed to move on to the next destination, and (3) I had been waiting for 90 minutes already. He didn’t show any apologetic or sympathetic signs. Instead, he gave me an earful, (a) I didn’t have an appointment, (b) there were people in front of me (BTW, I checked in my vehicle at 10:00 when they opened), (c) he said "there is a right way or a fast way to get it fixed blah blah blah", (d) he couldn’t tell me when my car would be fixed because I didn’t have an appointment,(e) if I can’t wait, I should take my car to other places to get it fixed.
I was shocked and speechless that a Costco manager who failed to do a simple 15-minute tire repair after the customer had been waiting for 90+ minutes. Instead, he blamed the customer for showing up w/o an appointment after an unexpected accident, and advised he to go somewhere else if he could not wait. How could this guy become a Costco tire manager in the first place? Couldn't anyone in Costco tell this Tire manager In his own tone, "if you can't do a simple job like this, you should go work for some...
