This was my first time at Butter in Upland, and it was a disappointment. I ordered a grilled cheese and tater tots. When I got my order , they gave me a ham and cheese sandwich. When I approached the clerk behind the counter that there was an error with my order, she just kept saying three times that I ordered a ham sandwich. I very nicely told her I did not believe that was accurate. I did not even know that a ham sandwich was on the menu. If the sandwich hadn't been drowned in sauce and pickles, I probably would have kept it, because mistakes happen, but I would not have been able to eat that sandwich. She took it back and they remade my sandwich into a grilled cheese. The description on the menu says it would be cheddar, provolone and Parmesan on the sandwich. What I got was a sad sandwich with American cheese, which I could make at home. I did not bring this to their attention, because no sane person sends their food back twice. The breakfast burrito, with ham my sister ordered right before me turned out perfect, and the tater tots were delicious . We also got s'mores brownies that were tasty. Overall a mixed experience. I usually visit the Butter in San Dimas and they are always amazing.
Also, this place would only get a C minus on cleanliness of the restrooms. The corners of the floors are dirty from long time half hearted cleaning techniques. Not awful, but it made me wonder if their kitchen was up to standards on their cleaning practices. If you are sloppy in one area, you might be...
Read moreI was looking for a very specific brunch spot that would be able to accommodate all my needs. It needed to be close to the freeway, provide seating outdoors (due to covid), serve delicious brunch foods and be somewhat quick!
Butter Cafe & Bakery just so happened to fulfill all of my needs and more! The location is a bit hidden, and I accidentally went to the Country Club across the street, but you'll find it! They have an amazing menu with a little bit of everything. Avocado toast, french toast, country fried steaksn and a variety of sandwiches for those who want to skip breakfast all together.
We ordered the chilaquiles, breakfast burrito and an avocado toast. The chilaquiles were nice and crispy, and came with two eggs. It was quite spicy for my tastes, so it's something to note for those who can't handle the heat like me! The breakfast burrito was a beast of a thing. It was very filling and quite tasty, I appreciated the amount of eggs that were inside it. The avocado toast came on a nice thick slice of challah bread and a side of tater tots! This toast was one for champions, it didn't come on a tiny sliver of bread like the ones you see on instagram.
Also, do not forget the cookies! The chocolate chip was very yummy and I like how the chocolate chip was sandwiched in-between the dough! I highly recommend you give it a try.
Would love to go back when I'm in the area to try their french toast, it looked delicious. Great spot for a quick breakfast,...
Read moreI ordered oatmeal which appears to be $6 on a menu when you search for it. And I purchased hot black tea. The total was $13 which surprised me but I unfortunately did not go to check which price was the oatmeal. My friend ordered an omelette which came fairly quickly. It was at least 15 minutes and my oatmeal was not presented. When we asked about it finally they said it was just about ready because it is made one person at a time. While it is nice to know, they should have told me it was going to be quite a long time before my oatmeal was ready. Even though I sipped on the hot black tea carefully, it burned the tip of my tongue and lips. So this was not a good experience. The oatmeal did turn out to be good but I don't think I will order that again. I did not notice until I just looked at reviews that this Cafe has a c rating. I didn't bother to look in the window to see if it has been upgraded by now. Most of the food does not seem all that healthy. If I go back with my friend, I will order the omelette not the oatmeal. The staff is not very friendly but they do automatically offer you ice water which I...
