I would like to start off ny saying that I've always come to this restaurant in Upland. So far I've never had an experience as I did today. My son and I walked in to cool off and get a decent meal. That didn't happen. It was 97 or so outside, and I expected it to be much cooler inside. It wasn't. Granted I was walking but I expected it to be a much noticeable difference in the air. It was like there was no air conditioning at all. And I was surprised that people in there didn't notice it. We were seated after they saw us, and we still had to wait for a waitress to walk over to ask if we wanted a drink. I think the manager finally asked us if we wanted something to drink. After receiving our drinks, she didn't say your server will be with you . Nothing. After looking at the menu, we noticed that noone even came to us. The waitress walked over to a couple not too far from us. She could have easily tuned around and acknowledge us. But nothing. We realized that we were actually being IGNORED purposely. It was the most awful experience ever in a restaurant. After being ghosted in a restaurant, which had only a few people actually eating, I was fed up and got up and walked away. Told my son let's go. I walked up to the manager, or whoever she was, told her that nobody acknowledged us, and the restaurant was too hot. I would pay for my drinks, but she said its ok. We could go. We left gladly. I don't know what happened to Cocos. But I will never step foot in that restaurant ever again. They must pick and choose who they cater to Apparently it wasn't my son and myself. Funny, but we are as people like to put it Hispanic. I personally don't like that category. Just remember all, those cooks in the back room are Mexican (Latino). We were the only Hispanics waiting to be served. Apparently we can't eat in a restaurant, only work in the BACKROOM. Maybe that waitress didn't feel we deserved to eat in there. Just saying all. As my father who by the way served in WW11, used to say becareful who you give your money too. Thank God they didn't get...
Read moreI went to eat here with a friend and it was lovely. Rosa, our server was sweet, enthusiastic, and informative. Excellent service. Also the pasta was great!!!! My favorite. What's not in the picture is some biscuits and gravy that my friend ordered after. They were freaking delicious. Fresh baked biscuits and what seemed like home made country gravy.
Suggestions from a satisfied customer:
(1) streamline the amount of "menus" you give the customers. I was handed 4 different pieces of paper to read. Management, please make it easy for your customers to order. 1 main menu and if need be a specials menu would be best.
(2) play some good music. Music makes people feel good, and feel good people eat! It also makes the restaurant more inviting. Take a book from johnny casinos they always play dean Martin or something like that. Doent have to be old music, but something nice. Months ago I went there and the manager was playing classic music. COME ON! HAHA. don't scare away your customers:)
(3) your cashiers and waiters should be offering pie to customers after each meal and when they check out. This might boost sales! Don't be pushy, but make it sound delicious 😋.
(4) the tvs look tacky. Ditch them. Or have a designated are where people can sit and watch likea bar area.
(5) reprint and laminate your menus. The resolution on the menus is low at best. The pictures should look sharp and clear. Make them see the food and get your customers mouths watering!!!
(5) a manager should at least once visit each active table to check in with guests and make sure everything is satisfactory. This looks good for cocos and makes the customers feel like you care.
(6) upsell appetizers!!!!! Make money!
(7) get your outdoor sign redone. It looks faded. Come on! Look inviting.
I have more suggestions but it's a lot. stay open I love cocos! Don't you dare close this...
Read moreSo we go to Cocos in upland and this lady sits us down. As soon as we sit down as blond lady came to sit behind us and says out loud. Omg they are sitting where our table was being cleaned for us. I look at her and say I'm sorry. The lady says it again. So I tell her if you want we can switch tables. She says loudly. No. It's ok. No.biggie. Then another lady comes in and sits with the same lady and now the second lady says the same thing with anger. We end up moving. As soon as we move to.another table a waitress comes and says to us. I'm sorry those ladies are usually mean. As soon as that waitress leaves the second lady comes to our table mad and tries to explain why they wanted our table. We had enough so we left and went to IHOP down the street. Which the food and service was great. I've never Been so disrespected like that at any restaurant and what made us more mad is that the waitress did not do one thing to try to defuse the.problem...needless.to say that we will never go back to Cocos....
