We came on a busy Saturday morning, but somehow we were able to get a table right away and even our food came pretty quickly. Great service in that sense! My husband got one of the specials which was the porterhouse steak with eggs and potatoes, and biscuit and gravy. He said it was all good, but not necessarily something he would get again. I got another one of the specials, which was the baked strawberry banana French toast. I really enjoyed it!! But same thing, I probably wouldn't get it again, just to try something new. I've had the apple waffle before, and I really enjoy that, which makes sense because it's a classic at Molly's. My two little girls shared the French toast kids meal (only $6.50), as there's two of everything on it, and they don't eat a ton. We also got the cinnamon roll, which is big enough to share and very yummy! I remember back when it was $2.50 or something, and it was so so worth it! Now it's $5, so just a special treat to get occasionally, not something to get every time.
What keeps bringing us back to Molly's is the tea sets that they give the kids right after you order your food while you wait. There's a cute little teapot with apple juice that the kids pour into their cute little teacups, as well as a little tiny plate of animal crackers. My girls absolutely love this, and like I said, it always brings us back for special occasions like their birthday weekend.
Old review:
This place is always SO crowded on Saturday mornings when we pass by on our way to the farmers market. We decided to finally try it out on a rainy Monday morning. Great experience! Everything was very yummy and the prices were really good. My husband got the eggs benedict, I got the apple waffle/sausage combo meal, and our toddler got French toast with egg and bacon (can't beat a kids' meal for $3.50!). Even the drinks were pretty cheap, with hot chocolate for $1.50 (2024 update: now $3!). We absolutely loved that while waiting for food, they gave our little daughter a mini tea set with apple juice and a few animal cookies. She loved it :) Service was very friendly and decently quick.
Only complaint is that they didn't tell us it would cost an extra dollar to get cheese on our eggs. I wouldn't have gotten it (x2) if I knew! Also, the receipts are a little mysterious to figure out because they have the itemized prices, but don't say what they are for so you kind of have to figure it out for yourself if...
Read moreMy favorite place to eat brunch at! THE LOCATION is so cute & unique! it's located right in downtown Upland, across from the library & old Upland firestation house. The fact that it is an actual house makes it feel more at home then ever! I swear I feel like I'm at granny's house for brunch when I am eating there! THEIR MENU is delicious. You actually get ALOT of food considering the price you pay. Most meals come with an option of toast or biscuits & gravy on top of whatever main course you order. Not all orders come with that option, but MOST! I always order their cinnamon rolls. One of my favorite things to order. They are huge for only a few bucks and some change. Their menu is awesome. I even noticed you can order their very own made from scratch whole loafs of bread & English muffins. But WHAT I LOVE THE MOST ABOUT MOLLY'S: Their dog menu! Yes! You read that right! They have a friggin' dog menu! Which obviously means you can bring your dog to brunch with you! Only if you choose to be seated outside. They even have a little section where all the dogs sit together & eat/play together. However the last time I went to eat there you had to have your dog with you at your table on a leash. THE SEATING AREA OUTSIDE is shady. Its covered by beautiful tress and plants. They even have heaters for when it's cold. THE SEATING AREA INSIDE is so cute. You can get seated in different parts/rooms of the house. They even have a rooms set aside for private parties. 5 STARTS OUT OF 5 for this place! If you haven't been here before, you need to go asap! (Of course after the pandemic is over since there is no dinning in due to covid 19) It will quickly become your favorite traditional place to visit for breakfast! CURRENTLY they do give you the option to make orders for pick up, since the dinning area is not available due to...
Read moreI would say that this is on the list of the more famous diners along former Route 66. Located east of Los Angeles in Upland, this little country diner is in a house that was refurbished to be a restaurant. It really has a great look to it when you arrive and even though there was a line of people we were able to be seated right away for a party of two at a 10:30 AM Saturday brunch. Inside is quite large and there are many different rooms where you can be seated. They don’t have booth seating, it is tables only. Our server was polite however it took quite some time for her to come over to get our drink orders after we sat down. There is not an attached parking lot, but street parking is really easy to find and the business parking lot across the street is available on weekends so parking is very easy.
I started off the meal with a Cinnamon Roll and would highly recommend ordering it. It was honestly really good and better than the version that I had at another place close by a week prior. It was really gooey and had a lot of icing on the top and had just great flavors. For my breakfast, I chose the Billye’s Texas Benedict and thought it was nice however, I thought the ham really lacked any flavor and wish it would’ve been more salted or I would prefer to switch the protein. The hollandaise was also a little bit different than I am used to, almost had a bit of a bitter taste to it, and the green onions I felt took a little bit away from the total flavor so overall, I did not dislike it, but it was not one of my favorite versions of a Benedict.
Overall, I would recommend if you are in the area and are searching for a quick and casual diner for...
