The Gyro Shoppe is nothing short of a culinary oasis! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the tantalizing aroma of spiced meats and freshly baked pita. The gyros here are truly a masterpiece—an orchestra of flavors that dance on your taste buds. The meat was impeccably seasoned and melt-in-your-mouth tender, kissed by just the right amount of char for that smoky, irresistible edge. The pita was pillowy-soft, warm, and hugged the ingredients like a cozy blanket. And the tzatziki? Heavenly. Creamy, garlicky, and laced with the perfect hint of dill—it was a sauce so divine, it could probably stand on its own.
But let’s not stop there—the toppings were fresh and vibrant, from the crisp, crunchy lettuce to the ruby-red tomatoes that tasted like they’d been plucked straight from a sun-drenched Mediterranean garden. Every bite was an explosion of textures and flavors that left me craving more. I’m not exaggerating when I say I went back for seconds because one gyro simply wasn’t enough to satisfy my newfound obsession.
Now, let’s talk about the customer service. It wasn’t just good—it was mesmerizing. The staff consisted of some of the most charming, friendly, and strikingly handsome Arab men I’ve ever encountered. Their warm smiles and impeccable hospitality added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience. They were attentive, quick to serve, and made me feel like a VIP guest in their establishment.
The Gyro Shoppe isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a destination, an experience, and quite frankly, a piece of heaven on Earth. If you’re a gyro enthusiast—or even if you’re not—you owe it to yourself to visit. I’m already planning my next trip back.

Read moreI have been going here for over 20 years. The service and the food has declined over that time period. A couple of years ago I thought I would give them another shot. There weren't many places in Columbus that offered Greek food at the time. I brought a friend there. The place looked very dirty. The food was just okay but because the place looked dirty, the food was not as appealing.
We both bought the strawberry cake which used to be delicious. It had mold on it. When I returned it to the counter, they tried to give me another piece of moldy cake. They granted me a refund at my request and I swear the man half laughed.
Today, I went there and ordered take out. The restaurant was dead. I ordered the usual... gyro salad. The owner asked me if I wanted extra meat which I took him up on. All of the carved meat was taken from a bin next to the rotisserie station. It was crunchy. I think he was trying to upsell old meat. The salad was brown and I found a 2X2 piece of packing tape in it. There were no olives. There were no variations of peppers. I should have trusted my gut and went to Mezze next door. I looked it up after I left and it got great reviews. If I had seen it before I pulled into the Gyro Shoppe's parking lot, I would have backed out. Sitting on a prime piece of real estate, someone please buy them out because it looks like someone is going to get sick and they...
Read moreI have been coming to this location whenever I am the West side for years because of the food. The staff has always been very nice until recently. There are two girls that work there; both very unprofessional. I understand that it’s a family owned business and very small but it’s still a business. When trying to order both girls were in a conversation and weren’t worried about taking my order, but I didn’t care I just wanted to eat. Then she gives the people who ordered after me their drinks first which I was a little like wth but still whatever. Then when getting my food and eating she kept repeatedly saying how she was ready to just leave loud enough for everyone to hear her. Then she blurts how nothing in the kitchen was clean and they’re definition of cleaning something is just running water over it. That was a turn off! Then the other girl grabs one of my chairs at the table and sits a vacuum on top of it while I was eating! Like at that point I was ready to go. It sucks because that’s one of my fav restaurants but those girls...
