Hibachi Express (Upper Arlington) — Restaurant in Upper Arlington

Employee (female) was rude at both the counter and on the phone. My order was placed at 3:57 for a 6:10 pickup. I called immediately after placing the order and them charging my card (to include a 20% tip) and spoke with another employee who said the order went through. I called again at 6:15 to ensure the food was ready as I had been charged. The employee (female) told me that I had the wrong location and I must have mistakenly ordered somewhere else. This was not a true statement as they had already charged my card and accepted the order. Instead of rectifying the situation, the employee (female) continued to be disrespectful and tell me that she was not going to do anything. She could instead have either refunded the charge or began to make the order. We have been patrons of this Hibachi Express for a while, but unfortunately will not be returning due to this employee’s behavior and lack of customer service.

Considering you can get a filling meal here for $10 or less (unless you order the fancier stuff), this place puts down a decent, basic meal. It’s about what you’d expect for $8-12 carryout. It has good flavor with the sauces added and a decent portion size. Fast, clean, wish they had a drive through. I usually get the veggie or chicken for 6.99 or 7.99. I’m happy to come here when I need a quick, cheap, easy meal after work. Great place!!!!

By comparison, their competitors down the street street Bento to Go w/ the Cat anime sign tasted like trash by comparison. I’ve tried a few things from them and it’s just yack, terrible taste. The noodles are gross, & Don’t even bother with the sushi there, it’s nasty you can see the glistening iridescent impurities on the fish. I’m not a picky eater, either but that place has quality...

I deliver for DoorDash among other services and found myself stopping here for orders more often than not when working in the area so I decided to give it a try. That turned into twice a week and the staff knowing my name when I walk in for my order. The chicken is delicious, I always get extra cabbage and the Crab Rangoon is a must. Yum yum sauce, yum, yum, yes please!

I generally stick to the chicken but I have had the steak, also very good but I’d say it’s probably best to order if you intend on eating in the restaurant bc like all steak it gets cold quick which makes it a little tough.
