Delco Diner — Restaurant in Upper Darby

Good evening Google Family. I visited for the first time today. This place is the site of the old Gelato establishment. I googled breakfast places and I decided to come here. My friend and I were scheduled to visit PenRose Diner today but since my sanitation buddies were late today and my friend had to work today, we rescheduled the breakfast until Thursday and now we have decided to come here on Thursday. My server was NIcole, who was so enchanting. NIcole kept me company the entire time I was here since I was dining alone but I never felt alone. We hit it off right away. I ordered grits, turkey bacon and home fries. They give you a lot of home fries. I had ordered hot chocolate to start my breakfast and then I ordered some chicken noodle soup. Everything was so delicious!!! What I loved about this spot was that it is intimate and quaint. Not a lot of people here and the restaurant is small. Just right, with just the right amount of tables and chairs and booths. There is plenty of parking outside in the parking lot. Also I visited the rest room and they have one for women and one for men. The rest room was nice and clean. I totally enjoyed my stay and experience here. I was over the moon when I asked a take out customer to purchase Yolanda's children's book, "Brown like Me" and she did. Nicole said to save her a book. I will be back on Thursday. A good time here. My tab was $22.59 cash and $23.27 debit card.. I paid by cash so my bill was $22.59. There is a good vibe here and I enjoyed the ambience of the place. Absolutely phenomenal experience here, will definitely be back again. The food was good and presented really well, the oatmilk latte was so smooth as it was made and didn’t need any extra cream or sugar (to me, anyway) and was overall very good. The sausage was crispy and tasty, one of the best I had. The setup in this cafe was really cute and clean, they had a nice coffee bar where you can do your own cream and sugar and they had a cozy corner with leather seats where you can sit and drink coffee while you read or chat with friends. The bathrooms were clean as well! Having a white and black checkered floor gave it a nice traditional vibe but it was also shiny and clean, definitely well kept. They also have an outdoor seating area on the side to use when it’s nice out. The next great thing is the gelato assortment, not only is it creamy and delicious but it also looks like the picture in real life! So shiny and smooth and fun, they have a variety of flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream, birthday cake, and more. On the counter you can find a variety of homemade cookies with unique flavors such as caramel snickerdoodle, orange cream cheese, and mint. The caramel snickerdoodles are as good as they sound (right up my alley). With that all being said, the service here is stellar. The owners are friendly, accommodating, and provide excellent personal service. They are great with kids and welcoming to all different kinds of people. They do delivery and catering as well. I was so excited to see that a new gelato place would be opening up where Cocco’s Gelateria was. I was even more excited to find out they had food too! Immediately had to try it as soon as they opened. I placed an order online and when I arrived it wasn’t ready. I wasn’t mad— turns out we were their first online order ever. They didn’t even know it came through! They were incredibly apologetic and gave me a scoop of gelato for free to enjoy while I wait for my order. I got caramel and it was delicious! He even offered me more scoops while I waited but I politely declined. I didn’t want to spoil my dinner ! After 15 mins my food was ready and they continued to apologize. I told them it was no big deal that I know they just opened. I got a bacon cheeseburger (which was huge!) and my boyfriend got a chicken sandwich. We both enjoyed our food.
