Idk where to start. But let me say I USUALLY love this place. Yesterday my boyfriend and I ordered 2 fish n rice platters mine w plantain, his without. Now as far as plantains go sometimes they remember sometimes they don’t. Whatever no big deal. However I ordered my fish with jollof rice and my rice didn’t look burnt but it tasted really burnt like I got the bottom of the pot. I tried to eat it but I couldn’t and I honestly did not want to have to force myself to eat it. Especially when I know their usual quality of food. So that caused us to go back. No plantains and really I wasn’t eating that rice. So I took the food back I asked them to just change my rice and I asked what happened to the plantains. They changed the rice no problem, plantains was not ready yet so they gave a refund. Cool no problem at all easy transition. HOWEVER. So we go home eat about an hour later I feel really nauseous, then I throw up. Felt horrible after that. My stomach was hurting and I just wanted to lay down. I finally fell asleep but only to wake up four different times through the night throwing up and my stool is coming out like water! Also this was the only thing both of us ate yesterday. In the middle of the night my boyfriend wake up like “my stomach hurt I feel like I gotta throw up” in my head im like omg not him too. So between the two of us from ab 9/10pm yesterday up until today right now it’s 2:30 pm both me and him are both having to throw up and having to run back and forth to the bathroom. Neither one of us can keep anything down. Thanks for ruining our weekend. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! I’ve been a customer for the past 4 years but they will not receive another penny from me. I placed an order around 9pm and was eventually assigned a driver with an ETA around 10pm. That driver was then reassigned around the time the food should have been delivered. The 2nd driver assigned reached out stating they ran out of food and per the restaurant asked me to cancel the order. Per Uber Eats policy if I cancel an order there is no guarantee I’ll receive a full refund after the order has been accepted and assigned a driver. Uber Eats charges a cancelation fee for cancelling after a certain timeframe. I’ll only receive a full refund if the restaurant cancels it and they clearly were trying to get over and keep some of the funds. The messed up thing is they refused to cancel the order on their end forcing the driver I was communicating with ratings to go down and assigning another driver. All they had to do was cancel the order on their end but instead they wasted multiple drivers time/gas and mine when I could have ordered elsewhere. It was almost midnight before they magically found the cancel order option and cancelled the order. I get it Valentine’s Day can be a busy day for restaurants but they knew they ran out of food hence why the first driver was reassigned. They could have cancelled or communicated with me to order something else if they didn’t have it....

Worst experience ever, called ahead to see if they was open and if they had what i wanted the man on the phone said yes so i rushed over there only to get there for him to say he is now close which was about 15 mins early from original closing time i stated i just called 10 mins ago and you said you was open and i couldn't order over the phone but can walk in to order and all i walked into is a disappointment No matter how good a restaurant food is you should also respect others time and be able to communicate in a respectful way, If he would had said you have to get there 15 mins before closing to order i would have understood and never wasted my time and gas. I normally don’t write reviews but if this review can save someone from wasting they time with this place then why not write a review btw they have good food but if i ever go back i will for now on stick to the woodland ave location cause respect means...
