I come to eat here with my family every few months for a treat. I have never recieved bad service.
The waitstaff is extremely courteous and experienced. They are friendly, intelligent, and personable. The food is some of the best korean food in Philadelphia. I do not know why people are giving such bad reviews.
If you eat out at restaurants nowadays the price is in the same ballpark so it is affordable. People should not get upset for a waiter "reaching over you," they are doing their job.
Also, fyi galbi is a specialty, (my family makes it at home), it takes hours to marinate so it usually costs more at restuarants.
I worked in food service for a while, so I can tell you that they are very good at what they do. I have been to plenty of different restuarants in Philadelphia, London, New York, L.A., France, and Korea and there is nothing wrong with their service. In fact, I have never read such rude reviews before for a restaurant (there are plenty of restuarants that deserve a worse rating than the one people are trying to give this one.)
If you want good food, and good service try it out. It is alittle tricky to get there but the best places are. While I do not know any of the people who work there on a personal level, I respect...
Read moreKorea Grill has a very alluring atmosphere that is welcoming from the start. It's also accompanied by a really down to earth business owner, Korea. His warm welcome almost makes you feel at home, and the service that he and his crew provide is almost family-like.
The food that they serve is more than reasonable in terms of quantity and price. Every dish of food that was brought out was thoroughly introduced so that everyone know what they were getting in front of them. The taste and quality of the meats were amazing.
On top of the food and service, this is also one of the only places that i've seen that has a stone-top barbecue. This is a big strength of this establishment since the stone-top is bigger than your traditional circular barbecue top, but it's also far less prone to residual food burns. The ventilation of the place also top-notch so you don't end up smelling like the food you ate after like every other Korean BBQ place.
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I want to thank Korean and his crew for having us and for providing excellent service. I highly recommend this place for anyone that an authentic and intimate...
Read moreFirst time back at Korean Grill House since the remodel. A lot has changed such as the decor, foods, and style of Korean bbq.
If you are looking for a cool place to eat at, this is the spot as they solely do charcoal grill, which adds extra flavor, and an a la carte menu. A lot different from the previous set up.
The small dishes are pretty unique including the cheesy corn and scallion salad. They no longer have the japchae(which will be missed) or pork bulgogi.
When I went, we ordered beef bulgogi and galbi. The charcoal is kinda scary if it pops up at you, but the flavor is pretty good. The food was going well until a miscommunication caused half the bulgogi to burn due to the temperature being ip too high and the bulgogi not being spread out enough.
The decor is a industrial look with lots of metal and open space. I felt kind of exposed. Very different from before with the more private booths.
Overall, the meal was alright. I really miss the old style of this place and their other food options that they no longer have. The redo is definitely nice, but very different. I do recommend this spot if you are looking for a unique and...
