Kelly's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Upper Mount Bethel Township

Stay far away. The owner does not care what so ever about making a customer happy. Two times in a week we had a the worst service ever. Literally, Mackenzie Brooks who works there threatened to throw the ice cream in my sons girlfriends face because she corrected her on putting sprinkles on her ice cream. Things escalated from there. Earlier this week my daughter went in there they messed up the hot dogs we called to express the mess up and the same employee proceeded to argue with my daughter that she never said with cheese when the employee said the full order back to her over the phone as well as in the store. Mackenzie Brooks then proceeded to state on the phone to my daughter about being harassed at work. My daughter interrupted her and told her she was still waiting for a response about the hot dogs. The employee then hung the phone up on her. At the issue tonight I called and spoke to the manager. I tried to express that we had an issue two different times this week with the same employee involving different people from my family. The owner did not care. She stated they were closing and to come in a different day to talk to her. She kept stating her employee did no wrong. STAY AWAY. It’s not worth the headache. No one there cares about customer service. I will not be going back there I would rather drive 15-20 mins to get ice cream than deal with disrespectful employees who were not taught about manners and where the owner doesn’t care to enforce them. If that was my employee she would have been fired...

This place was such a find on our way to the Poconos. The portion sizes are very generous (especially for the price!). So generous that they scoop a small amount of ice cream into the cone before placing proper scoops on top. The small miscalculation in this generosity is the inevitable cracking of the cone as further scoops are added. I’ve been twice. All four cones I purchased were structurally compromised... both times!

I recommend the chocolate chip and the mocha chip. They use a large, fudge-y chip that tastes the way I wish Graeter’s chips tasted.

The chocolate and peanut butter chocolate are fine. The cookie dough is too sweet.

I really like this ice cream, but my empirical reasons for enjoying it don’t do it justice. It tastes like ice cream. Not gelato. The good flavors are not too sweet. It is served at the right, cold temperature that is cold enough not to melt too fast and not so cold that I can’t taste the flavors. It is creamy enough not to “crumble” but not so creamy that it no longer feels like ice cream.

This place was great. Got the fiesta salad and it was super fresh and huge. Also had a cappuccino smoothie that was pretty good. My daughter got chicken nuggets and French fries which were also very fresh and shared onion rings that came out nice and hot. She had a soft serve cup of vanilla with rainbow sprinkles she thoroughly enjoyed. My husband had the same salad I did and then a peanut butter cup flurry that he said was really good. In full disclosure I did order a cherry smash and they didnt have all the ingredients and then I ordered coffee ice cream with chocolate covered pretzels and they didnt have them either.
