My MIL used to take my kids here weekly before COVID--they LOVE this place. The staff were so kind with the kids and even gave my daughter an opportunity to try to work with the dough. She still tells me this is her "favorite place to get pizza". We started ordering delivery from here, initially weekly, but now closer to monthly. First, I agree that this place is on the more expensive side, but they do have reasonable specials. Their portions are typically generous. They do have some unique menu items which set them apart from the many good quality pizza places nearby that are lower in cost. Lately, however, our orders have taken longer (1.5-2 hours). We typically order during off hours and live within a mile. Cheese/extra cheese pizza for the kids has been arriving lukewarm with undercooked dough and cheese to one side of the pie due to handling (so much so that it buried the plastic pizza saver/stool). As someone else mentioned, the staff aren't always pleasant if you call about your order. I try to be understanding because it's been crazy with COVID and I'm sure it's been stressful. I had a simple cheese pizza order take nearly 2 hours & spoke to a frustrated-sounding woman who assured me "it just came out of the oven and is on its way". I received a lukewarm cheese pizza nearly 30 mins later--which seems unreasonable for a 5 minute trip that was fresh out of the oven. That was my worst experience. Their italian & steak calzones are great--usually well done & enough for 2+ people or with leftovers to spare. I really like their wings, and while I agree with others that they are $$, I've found them comparable to other good wing joints in our area (this was pre-wholesale prices increasing). Breaded wings rubbed with ranch + their signature BBQ sauce on the side is the way to go. Wings are well done, crisp & the sauce is fantastic--I've never had a terrible wing from there. Most recently, we tried their reuben rolls, and I'm here to tell you to DO IT. We received 6 reasonably sized rolls that are made with their pizza dough, cooked perfectly and filled with a good amount of kraut, cheese, and corned beef. Dipped in the side of Thousand Island dressing, they were amazing. I'll probably order these daily until I get sick of them. ...
Read moreWanted to try this place for a while, and finally had the opportunity as we were running late. Tried first to order a delivery. Even though the web site said that they deliver within a five mile radius - and that we live 3 miles away - they would not deliver to us. OK, we ordered takeout. The young woman who took our order was obviously rushing and could not, or would not, answer the question about the salad dressing that we had. Hmm... not a good sign.
We arrived for the pickup and our order was ready. That is a good sign.
Drove back home and unpacked everything. We did receive what we ordered - that is another good sign (Some of the delivery services had recently made way too many errors!).
Now for the main event! How it all tasted.
Good points for presentation: The pizza and the salad looked gorgeous. Both were very colorful and looked appealing. The pizza was NOT greasy at all and even the bottom of the crust was dry.
The salad was full of interesting veggies, although what made it a greek salad beyond Kalamata olives and a sprinkiing of Feta is unclear to me. Spinach was the main green in this salad!
The disappointments were that the pizza was uneven. The outside edges of the crust were of a medium thickness and nicely baked, but the inside, where all the toppings were, was very thin and could not hold all the toppings. Now, we ordered one of their standard collections, so it's not like we overloaded it. Secondly, the veggie pizza was very, VERY, salty. Not sure what caused that. On the other hand, the hand-cut fries that we also ordered came completely unsalted! What's with that?
Bottom line, a very uneven performance which justifies the middle of the road rating I...
Read moreHorrible experience! First, I waited in line behind a very elderly gentleman who was trying to pickup a “sausage pizza”. He seemed to be either slurring his words a bit or speaking broken English, I believe the latter. The lady, who I later learned was named Kathy, was so incredibly mean to this man. She tells him she does not have any sausage pizzas, in a very strong, angry tone. He points to a man who he spoke with, who then confirms with Kathy he ordered a “pepperoni sausage pizza”. She comes back to the register and says “Oh NOW it’s a pepperoni sausage pizza eh!?”. If I had been that man, I would have left. I wish I had. He hands her his card and she points to the other side at the card reader and barks “over there”. She couldn’t have been more bothered by his business. I’m sorry if this was your dad/grandpa/husband. I should have spoke up because no one should be treated that way. We’ve eaten here many times before and the quality continues to go downhill. This time our pizza was barely edible (I say barely because the dog did eat it) as it was so burned. This isn’t the first time, but I hate to write off a place we used to like. After learning that Kathy was a “manager”, it wouldn’t even be worth addressing the issue with her. Clearly there has been a change here, and if you’re smart-you’ll find somewhere else to go. If Kathy truly is running this shop, it will be out of...
