Virginia Street Cafe — Restaurant in Urbanna

Came for lunch last year, burger and fries poor quality. Went last week to try their breakfast if any better, disappointed again. Omelets were terribly thin with few ingredients, the hash browns were actually just small potatoes. And the toast was the thinnest cheapest Wonderbread type you can imagine. The waiters and wait staff were very nice but it really could not make up for the poor quality of food that this place serves. There's always a family hanging out in the back, probably the owners with their kids and friends. I don't think they really care about making good food, it's just their place to visit. just wonder who all the people giving the reviews are if they've ever had a decent breakfast before. The best one in the area is The Farmer's Daughter which I've gone to once but is a very good...

I really wanted to like this place. Ate here years ago and remember it was not great but thought I'd try again. Still bad sorry to report. Ordered breakfast on a Friday morning, sausage gravy over biscuits and a cheese omelet. No sausage in the gravy! NONE! Don't know if the waitress with the mean attitude got the order wrong or the cook but it had absolutely no sausage. Just white "gloop". Like from a powder "Sawmill" style and taste. Biscuits from a can at Food Lion. Omelet was okay, very scarce on cheese. Waitress never refilled our coffee cups or checked on us. Only 2 tables had guests, assuming others knew better. We ate here once more than 10 years ago and remember having an okay meal. Nothing spectacular, but passable standard fare. On our second visit today we were looking for a quick bite and ordered sandwiches (a grilled chicken and a reuben) and water. Over an hour later we were still waiting and decided to leave. In addition to the wait, we were frustrated to see three other tables of guest that came in after us receive their orders well before us. We have no idea what happened and our waitress did not feel the need to update us or apologize for the extraordinarily long delay for two sandwiches. BTW, the restaurant was sparsely occupied in addition to being unusually warm and stuffy. Apparently, the a/c was not up...
