Parking: They have a small parking lot. This lot is at the very end of a lane that merges left.
Atmosphere: Love the atmosphere. Really calm and neat. The decor on the table is good as well.
Service: All of the employees were really nice. We were frequently checked up on. Did not have to ask them to clear our finished plates. We also did not have to ask for water refills. They bring an ipad to your table if you are paying with card. The only issue is that our main entrees took a little on the long side to come out.
Food: Food came out in order starting with the appetizers followed by entrees and dessert at the end. Large portion sizes so anticipate taking out the food.
Scallion Pancakes: 4/5. Typical scallion pancakes served with a sauce that is sweet and has some amounts of vinegar. Crispy. Wish they were either a little thicker or if there were more pieces.
Firecracker Roll: 5/5. Nothing more to say here except that their sushi is great. Also feels like the size of the pieces itself are bigger than most other restaurants that make sushi.
La La Chicken: 5/5. Do not let the description on the menu (claims to be very spicy) and the potential warning from the waiter/waitress scare you! This dish is actually NOT spicy. The only spicy part of this dish is the jalepenos/green peoeprs themselves so you will be fine as long as you dont eat that. The red peppers that come with it are just for cooking purposes and not edible. The chicken itself was nicely cooked and flavorful. This is more of a sweet dish.
Shang hai Bok Choy: 5/5. A little oily but tastes the same as the ones served in an authentic non-fusion chinese restaurant. Wish the butts of the bok choy were all cut off.
Verdict: They have a couple of “sister” restaurants. I definitely recommend coming here if you are craving asian...
Read moreAfter the heavy pre-opening public relations campaign, we were looking forward to see who had opened in the location of the late, great Olive Tree greek restaurant. As it turns out, there is potential there, but they are not there yet. It was totally booked for a table, so we did take-out. The food was ready on time, and the packaging was good. The ingredients were good, and they were prepared well, but the mistakes outweighed the good. I ordered the Mala chicken, which was supposed to be Crispy Diced Chicken. Not quite. What I got was huge breaded chunks of chicken, suitable for General Tsao or similar. I suggest the manager visit nearby Han Dynasty or Lemon Tree to see what authentic Crispy Diced Chicken looks like. The meat was good, but I didn't want any breaded coating. Worse than that, my dish was supposed to come with brown rice (it's printed on the receipt), but there was no rice in our bags. What else? The tom yum soup tasted good, but the pieces of vegetable were Huge. She had to chop them herself, to make them edible. Certainly nothing you could eat with a soup spoon. Similarly, the avocado salad had good ingredients, but the pieces of lettuce were just huge, and the ginger dressing was bland and watery. Don't waste your time on the veggie spring rolls - bland, and very little filling. But the proof of Not Ready for Prime Time? She ordered the a la carte salmon SUSHI. What they put in the bag was salmon Sashimi. So whoever handled the order in the kitchen screwed up, and nobody at the front desk checked what was in the bag. Now, if we had been able to eat there, some of these mistakes might have been taken care of. But maybe not. We'll try again in a few months, maybe they will get their...
Read moreWe went to Osaka in the evening for a party of 2. We were seated quickly and found the atmosphere to be quite nice. It was dimly lit in the restaurant itself, but there was a lamp at each table. The staff were all super friendly and easygoing.
We ordered the Scallion Pancakes, Firecracker Roll, the Shanghai Stir Bok Choy dish to share, and I got the Pepper Steak with Onions dish as my entree.
The Scallion Pancake came out first. The slices were thin, crispy, and flaky. It tasted quite good and I would recommend giving them a try if you're a fan of scallion pancakes.
The Firecracker Roll came next. It was beautifully displayed on a big, round plate though looking back, it may have looked better if displayed on a long plate. In any case, it comes with 8 pieces, which are rather large. It does taste a little spicy from the sriracha drizzle on top though nothing unbearable. Overall, it was a good roll! I wish we had tried more of their specialty rolls because the Firecracker Roll was pretty good. I would order this sushi roll again.
My entree, the Pepper Steak with Onions, was good. It's very saucy and not spicy at all. It does come with chopped green bell peppers. The dish is quite big, so it can definitely be shared between people.
The Shanghai Stir Bok Choy was a little underwhelming. I love eating bok choy, but this dish tasted rather plain. I think the dish helped as a palate cleanser more than anything, but I likely would not order this dish again.
Overall, we had a good first-time at Osaka Asian Cuisine. The atmosphere and staff were great. The food, especially their sushi rolls, tasted great. I would recommend trying this restaurant out if you're looking for something...
