More like 3.5⭐️ overall; 4⭐️ For a Chinese buffet. Great variety, especially when it comes to seafood. Shrimp, crab legs on an ice bed, and occasionally oysters and such. It can be busy at peak hours on certain days of the week, but service has always been excellent in my opinion (and I dine there fairly often, though more frequent in past years). Unfortunately, Kings does tend to share some of the same "issues" as most other buffets (ie) "imitation" foods (usually seafood) obviously of far less quality than their "real" counterparts, the occasional "cold-ish" dish that should have been refreshed some time ago, stale food here and there from sitting under the hot lamp for too long, and (although experienced substantially less often than the other "issues") the running out of a particular dish or item (ironically, it's usually one of the favorites...). On the bright side, any issues are easily forgotten when it comes time to indulge in the well stocked dessert bar. Once it's time to get up and go, everyone is so stuffed and ready for a nap that nobody thinks to complain of any minor issues they had during the food-stuffing campaign. Once again, while not a fine dining experience, Kings is a buffet. But for a Chinese buffet, Kings stands a bit above most others and can still boast inexpensive prices on top of it. Especially great for families and...
Read moreIt's true...the dining room is really dirty. But the food has been good...well restocked, and a good price considering all the choices. If you bear in mind you are spending only $15 for all you can eat, yeah some corners are gonna get cut.
It's was also true that the restroom (mens) was in bad shape...smashed mirror, graffiti, urine smell...the whole ball of wax. As of today 6/16/2018 it is all fixed and clean. However the service remains ehhh...so so. I would imagine this is reflected in low or no tips.
But I like it enough to ride my motorcycle 30 miles to get here and will be going again soon.
To me on the dates I've gone, the food was pretty good, looked and tasted fresh, and there was lots of it.
It is packed on Sundays and droves of customers tear through the food but they keep bringing more and more out. There are more meat and seafood choices on Sundays.
There's a Mongolian bbq type station with an attendant where they will fry up your selection of noodles and meat, etc. However, it doesn't seem very hot - nothing I've seen heaped on it has been sizzling or steaming. I won't try it for fear of an undercooked / food poisoning type scenario. Can't imagine it would give that high heat fast cooked...
Read moreJust went there today and holy hell. My family and I used to go there all the time until this experience. Food was horrible, I'm a seafood lover, the seafood was either frozen or not cleaned properly. Like the shell fish, each bite was gritty. And the sushi was dry. The more I ate the food, the more of a headache and stomach ache I was getting. I can go on about the food but let's talk about the service. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would've been, so I thought the service would be fine... I was dead wrong. The guy that served our table came off a bit rude. Not even nearing the end of our dinner (about 20 minutes into it) that we tried to enjoy as a family, which we rarely do, the waiter comes up with our check and fortune cookies like we was tryna kick us out. And the more I looked around for the staff, I would see some employees on their phones, just ignoring their customers. If I could give this place no stars, I would in a heartbeat. Never going back. I'll take my chances with traffic...
