Tasty Every Hour Chinese Restaurant is located in the shopping center across the street from the DMV and in the same shopping center as the Sunrise Banquet Hall and Hyatt Place. It’s a small restaurant with some indoor seating and a small area for outdoor seating that takes up a couple parking spaces. I have been seeing a lot of people coming here to get Chinese Food, so figured I’d try it out since I was too lazy to cook. I called in the order togo and was told it would be 20 minutes. We arrived probably around 20 minutes and the food was ready waiting for us as they weren’t busy.
Food (4.5/5 stars): Braised Green Beans and Eggplant: Good flavors, garlicky. Both the green beans and eggplant were not overcooked or undercooked. Eggplant can be mushy and slimy if overcooked, but it was not. Beef Chow Fun: Cooked very well and was not bland or overly salty. Good amount of chow fun noodles and beef. My wife thought it could have had more flavor, but I liked it the way it was. Braised Pork Belly: This was our favorite dish. The pork belly was in decent sized chunks and had great flavor, hint of 5 spice/anise, but not overpowering, sauce was great over steamed rice (we cooked steamed rice at home).
Service: (4/5 stars): The lady that took our order was nice, but she started talking in Chinese for several seconds before hanging up the phone so I was able to hear her conversation with another employee. Fortunately, they were talking about me or said anything inappropriate. When we arrived to pick up our food, she was nice, but made no attempt to be friendly or start any small talk which is fine, however being more friendly could help improve service.
Location (4.5/5 stars): Good place to grab some food before/after DMV visit. It’s near the all the Vacaville Car Dealerships, so it’s a nice place to stop and grab lunch/dinner when car shopping. Hyatt Place Hotel is right across the parking lot, so if you are staying there, stop by for lunch/dinner. They are near the Vacaville Premium Outlets and it is easy on/off I-80 and I-505 freeways.
For Vacaville, Tasty Every Hour is a decent Chinese Food option. They provide decent serving size for the price of...
Read moreI've been craving Chinese food for a very long time but sadly do not have a go-to spot in Vacaville. Most Chinese restaurants in Vacaville are okay, nothing to be excited about. Today was a game changer. It's funny because I use to own this place as Erick's Deli from 2007-2015 so I was naturally curious. First our greeter was absolutely delightful. He suggested a few different options, my husband ordered Szechuan Beef, I had Chicken Broccoli and for appetizers we ordered Cucumber in Chili sauce and Fried Cream Cheese Crab Wonton. The Szechuan Beef was AMAZING better than my Chicken Broccoli which was also very tasty. The Cucumber Chili was a cold dish but very flavorful and delicious. All the while our server was attentive and suggested other items to try. We could only eat so much so we declined to order but he was so gracious to bring us two samples on the house. I appreciate good marketing. One was a honey glazed shrimp with candied Walnut. WOW!! So delicious I ate three and gave my husband one. The other sample was a fried Cheese stick. It was okay, not my favorite but not bad. We enjoyed every item and will make this our monthly night out. Every person who orders receives 15% off not sure how long this discount will last so do not delay your visit. Do yourself a favor and check this place out and...
Read moreI've been in Vacaville for a couple years now and am not a fan of any of the Chinese restaurants in town. So far the best Chinese has been Panda Express, so that's pretty sad. Looking for something new, I stumbled across Tasty Every Hour Chinese- what a great name! It had only a few reviews, but they were stellar, so we decided to give it a go. The restaurant is a little hole-in-the-wall and the decor is very modest. The servers are super friendly and the food was great. My wife had an order of shrimp fried rice and I had beef dry pot. The rice was really good with generous portions of perfectly cooked shrimp. The dry pot is a new experience for me, but essentially it is like hot pot without the broth. The beef was thin cut and tender, steeped in a savory marinade. It was a bit spicier than I expected, but not overwhelming. Next time I order it, I'll get it without the chili peppers. We are already looking forward to our next visit, so we can try some of the other dishes. Oh and they gave us some sticky rice cakes in brown sugar syrup for dessert. I'd never had this dessert before, but it was...
