A great first Taqeria experience in Vallejo. We just moved and are very pick about our Mexican food. We love Taco Trucks and Taquerias. If your ever in the Modesto Area hit up Jessica's #7 on 9th st. So we don't usually like to venture from what we know. But now we've moved we have no choice we needed to find our new favorite Taqueria and this is in the running to be our new favorite. we've only been to this one so far but it's easily one of our top five that we've ever had. The service is spectacular; very friendly, & very personable, you feel like you're in there home and you are their guests. The hospitality is Bar None! I loved the burritos and the bean dip. Don't skip the bean dip their chips are always hot they have a very extensive salsa bar it's worth going back just for the salsa bar itself... And bean dip. They serve hot Fresh Tortilla Chips. The burritos because that's our family favorite, is what we each ate and experienced. We would definitely be back to order again. While we still are looking for more taquerias to add to our repertoire in this area, this one is definitely in our top 5 overall. As a surprise dessert we did not ask for it they give us hot and fresh churros at the end of our mail we were so full we did not stay to eat them we took them home and ate in the living room all together laid out on the floor rubbing our...
Read moreMy first visit just a week ago. Hankering for a breakfast burrito and read the good online reviews. Tried them out. Glad I did, because this spot really lived up to the hype!
First off--the burrito was massive! Couldn't eat it all at once. Was my breakfast, lunch AND dinner that day. I really got my money's worth. They don't skimp; was a good value.
Beside the size, the ingredients were all fresh and tasty. Eggs cooked perfectly (on the firm side). Chorizo was so flavorful and a perfect compliment. Shoestring potatoes, beans, and sour cream filled the rest of the tortilla.
Topped it off with some chips and their homemade salsas, which they include for free! The green salsa was so fresh tasting. It was made with an herb that I didn't quite recognize the taste of, but it added so much dimension to the sauce. Maybe dried coriander? And the red salsas were just as dynamic, with the perfect amount of heat. Again, just as complex and flavorful as the green.
Friendly! I think the owner may have waited on me. He was very friendly and said "welcome" when I mentioned it was my first time. I asked about fish tacos and he mentioned that they beer batter fry theirs. Cannot wait to try them!
Like El Chilar in Oakland, this food is created by a true chef, who appears to be dedicated to providing Vallejo great tasting food. I'll be...

The employees greet you eagerly and are exceptionally attentive to our needs. First thing was we were offered free refills to our Agua Fresca (We had Jimica) and access to the crazy salsa bar with an assortment of delicious (and sometimes spicy) selection of accompaniment to your complementary chips.
I had the carnitas chimichanga and my date had the menudo. My date says the menudo was 'clean' the meat was tender, the broth was flavorful and not too spicy. It hit the perfect spot for her.
My chimi had a great fried crust to the tortilla, and the additions (sour cream, lettuce, and pico) were located on the sides. I appreciated this as I like to enjoy the chimi as plain as possible first bite so I could enjoy it on its own.
That first bite was amazing. The beans were perfectly distributed with the carnitas. The meat itself was flavorful and tender, and while moist it was not greasy.
We were offered some small churros with a lovely dollop of some sort of dipped frosting. This was provided on the house which was a pleasant surprise and ended our night...
