A visit to Vallejo proved fruitful. We had a meeting to go to with time to spare. On our way to find location we spotted Noonie’s Place. Once we found where we would meet later we headed back down the road and stopped in. We were greeted right away We picked a table n sat. Relaxed homely atmosphere. Good tunes playing everyone happy. Where I was sitting I could see right into the kitchen everyone was busy busy. People came in and out picking up orders. Our food came out hot and fresh. I ordered chicken and waffles. The waffle was light n fluffy. It had a nice spice to it. Chicken had a nice crunchy breading. I stacked and dipped, dipped and stacked. I ate everything. My son ordered Basa plate with greens and Mac and cheese. We shared bites. Very tasty. He too finished all his food happily. We sat enjoying our meal chatting and sing along to the music. We sent these pics to the family chat..everyone agreed we would be back. Thank you for a welcoming us and a great dining experience. My son kept saying how full he was but still had room to...
Read moreAs a disclaimer I have only had the sweet potatoe pie and have not tried anything else on the menu. I ordered a whole pie for the family and usually baked goods don't last two days in our house but this one might just sit there until the ants come. No ma'am this pie failed all of the attributes of a southern sweet potato pie. Crust should be buttery and tender yet this one was stale as a cardboard box. I said to myself okay let me just try and enjoy the pie part but the filling was not firm and watered down and just filled with so much sugar it was unbearable. Vallejo is too rich with southern culture to let such a staple as a sweet potato pie like this one slide. Nunus Bakery in Vallejo is how sweet potato pie should be done. They have to revamp this recipe. I will add more stars but PLEASE for the culture change...
Read moreHas anyone else tried Noonies? I was at the waterfront today for the little festival to get some eats. And we decided on Noonies. We had the Shrimp: sweet and tender and the tails already off. The Hush Puppies: Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Mac and Cheese: Oh so cheesy! And the fish: Basa. (It is a bottom feeder.) But it is so tender and delicious and not gamey and flaky like Catfish. I found it more delicious than Cod. The food was a little on the salty side… but with beer paired it was fantastic! Apparently they are local and on Sonoma Blvd! I highly recommend them for both their food and their wonderful customer service and genuine kindness. A great place to check out! 2907...
