This is my #1 choice for authentic Mexican food in Vallejo. I love that it's the only food truck I've ever come across that never moves. Their prices have gone up recently but are still reasonable. When you order something (i.e. my personal favorite, the lengua burrito) it usually comes with a napkin, salsa roja, salsa verde, a couple of radishes, a stalk of green onions and sometimes a pickled jalapeño. It's hit or miss whether they include all or some of the above-mentioned or sometimes none at all, so if you're a stickler for condiments to your freshly-made and delicious Mexican meal I recommend checking your bag before walking off. Sometimes there's a bit of a line and a wait but they're pretty quick to get your order out in a timely fashion. Unfortunately it's parked next to a crowded automotive business on one of the busiest streets in the entire city, has no designated parking area, and the nearest cross street to park on is going up a hill. Parking is sometimes close to impossible depending on how busy actual street traffic is, so it might be safer to park across the street and walk over. But non-locals beware, this is NOT a good nor clean area to hang out in for any length of time. I recommend buying your food and going elsewhere...
Read moreI've had my five star rating up for four years now for this place and my rating still stands, even with the challenges of COVID. This is hands down the best burrito truck I've ever eaten at. I've been coming here for more than 10 years and the Al Pastor Super Burrito is still as incredible as the first time I ordered it.
Sadly, the hours of the taco truck have seemingly become sporadic in the evenings. The past two times I have tried to go there on a weekday (driving 45-60 minutes to meet up with folks at Tacos Guadalajara as the central point), they have been closed. The first time we arrived at 7:05 and the truck was gone. Tonight, we arrived at 6:50 and the truck was gone once again. Both times, I was so looking forward to buying myself 2 or 3 burritos (they reheat very well!) only to have my...
Read moreMy favorite taco truck in V-town. I don't need a ginormous burrito at sit down restaurant prices in order to be happy, like another popular truck in town serves. Their asada is nicely charred and tasty. The lengua tacos are fantastic! Moist, tender and delicious. I like that they pair up the salsas according to what type of meat you order for your tacos too. There's almost always a line but service is fast.
Note: cash ONLY.
The one drawback is the neighborhood but hey.....you can get your food to go, which should solve the issue for the squeamish or scaredy pants...
