Bad Service, Manager didn't fix it, and Terrible Caesar Salad.
This is by far the worst Bob Evans experience that I have ever had. We arrived at 6:00 PM and were seated and ordered our food very quickly. at 6:30, our waitress had refilled our drinks once, but never said anything else. Shortly after that, around 6:35, she apologized, and said that the kitchen had run out of cooked carrots, and that it would be another 5 minutes or so. She also offered for the manager to "take a few dollars" off of our bill, which we said would be nice.
Our food came out around 6:45. The meatloaf had obviously been sitting under a warmer for a while. My grilled chicken Caesar salad was awful. All of the lettuce was wilted and a bit soggy, and the croutons were on the bottom! They were also soggy. Ugh. The salad was also considerably smaller than the wildfire chicken salad. I was quite disappointed overall - both with the wait, and with the soggy salad (honestly, it seemed like it was leftover from lunch).
The manager eventually came out and brought us a loaf of banana nut bread, and apologized for the problem. This was an OK gesture, but honestly, the money would've meant more than the bread. We didn't have use for the bread - it is going to be given away.
Upshot: We had an unpleasant experience, which was not made better by the manager. (The waitress was nice and seemed competent)
Also: the grilled chicken Caesar salad is a COMPLETE waste of money. Don't even take it if they offer it for free. It's not worth...

After receiving a gift card I have been ordering food for take out. The first time my call was placed on hold and forgotten about. After calling back again I was hung up on then after calling back for a third time I was placed on hold for around 10 minutes before my order being taken. My second time ordering I was placed on a hold for around 15 minutes before my order was placed. Today was my third time ordering and I decided that due to the history of the last two visits I would call way in advance before leaving my residence. My call was answered however it was once again placed on hold. I was actually able to leave my residence and make it to the restaurant while still being on hold, for total of 14 minutes and 18 seconds. After walking into the restaurant to place my order, while my phone was still connected on hold, my order was then taken. Your call in to order service is obviously broken and needs some attention or retraining on phone/time management. I understand that at times it can be busy, however all three of these trips when arriving there has been very little people in the restaurant. After these issues I know I won't be ordering here any time soon or purchasing gift...
Read moreWe have ate at the VanWert location a few times. One visit we ordered the Stake, Mushrooms , Onions. The onions were raw , we sent them back and when returning they were still raw. We had to ask for refills more than once. Near the end of our dinner the waitress picked up our silverware and put it in our drink and took it away. We were not done with our drink. Our dinner cost $30.00 for only two people.
Another visit. The table was not washed properly. we asked for them to wash it again.
Another visit .Again we always have to flag down someone to bring more drinks. When we were brought bread, the plates were dirty. they didn't seem to care. We only got just one basket of bread, we only ordered the bottomless bread. After dinner we had to ask for the dessert twice. We also was charged for a item we did not order. Again our meal was $30.00 . In my opinion a meal that costs $15.00 each for the service and quality of food we received is not worth it . we wont be going there again. No...
