Sorely an honest review that I wasn't expecting. I have been looking forward to trying this small town diner for a long time but was never in the area. Finally I was passing through and got the chance. At first glance seeing how packed it was only ramped up my expectations but walking in and sitting at the counter only to have numerous waitresses walk past us but not stop to even ask for a drink was quickly diminishing my excitement. A young girl that was super sweet and nice came over and took our order. She was the best part of the experience! Even my meal partner commented on how business she was and that's alot of words for him. Lol I got an apple juice , it was a child size bottle but I didn't complain I was excited to eat. My partner in crime got a pepsi. She brought our food and they forgot my side order of bacon at first but that's ok it looked delicious! Then I took a bite. Sadly it was sorely lacking flavor of any kind. The whip cream was the only good part. The French toast was barely french (hardly been soaked at all) there was no hint of anything. The apple pie filling on top was just that a can of flavorless apple pie filling straight from the can and a whole can at that but warmed up a little. The bacon was great! My partner got a breakfast with hashbrowns that were shredded potatoes and it looked like someone dumped the whole bag on his plate. All of his food came out on different plates which at the counter took up 2 seats . Not sure why it all came out like that but that could be how they do it. He liked his texas toast (typically he don't eat bread) , eggs, and his sausage gravy but didn't like his sausage or biscuit. I did try his sausage and he tried my bacon. I liked his sausage but it was that microwave sausage that I buy at the store so I was ok with it. This meal cost us over $40. This was not worth $20 /plate. We both took our left overs home. I was hoping letting mine sit over night would help soak up some of the flavor but it didn't. Even pouring syrup all over it didn't help. This was very sad as I'm a huge bread eater and love breakfast .
would be a tight fit...
Read moreI love the food honestly. I haven't been there for one particular reason. I was told that one of your cooks who I think his name is Dan who completely thinks he's in control. He thinks he can tell everyone what to do and a lot of my friends will not go there because of him. He is trying to be a boss, orders people around, and says if the workers don't listen to what he says he'll send them home without pay. I walked in there one day and some guy who works there named Julian and I think he is a bus boy. Well a few people kept saying "I'm sorry julian it wasn't me (A pause) it was the liqour." I think it's from the show "trailer park boys" and the one cook who basically is ruining your business told everyone to shut up and get back to work and it was funny how he said that because it was basically slow. Again after that he said I can send you guys home without pay. I think the guy was talking to a guy named eric? Well the guy eric told his Co worker he wasn't doing anything wrong and he made everyone laugh except Dan and I was told eric does that to be funny and a lot of people say that to julian to be funny and they say that phrase to him because everyone laughs but they only do it when they see him and when the business is slow for the day. All in all I've been trying to say I haven't been going there a lot lately because the one guy named dan doesn't want to be happy while he's working and that brings down morale. I'm telling you now if you don't fix and control him more and more people won't come to your restaurant. I've heard stories how he treats his roommates and his roommates friends and it's just as bad. Please do something or a lot more people like me will say how your cook isn't a "good" boss since I heard he's got a key. I hope you guys whoever reads this have a...
Read moreMy daughter and I came here for our 1st time on Sunday March 1st 2020. It was a beautiful sunshining day. We drove 30 mins from Rural Valley to try what we heard was amazing and delicious breakfast food. I will eat breakfast 24/7 its yum! I ordered the daily special Boston Cream Pancakes. With 2 eggs and toast. My 11yr old daughter ordered Pappy Ray's. Which consisted of 2 eggs any style, 2 strips of bacon, hash browns or home fries. Toast and a biscuit swimming in sausage gravy! Both our eggs were hot and huge! Nice big pieces of toast. Her bacon was long strips and nice n crunchy just as she asked for! You need another stomach just to fit all the biscuit n gravy in. She had to take that in a box to go. Which ended up being her breakfast Monday morning! My eggs came 1st. I ate them. Perfect Sunny side up! Then came my huge pancakes! I maybe ate between a quarter to not quite half of them! They were melt in my mouth delicious. But I couldn't fit them in my belly! So I took them home for Mondays breakfast. They were also my lunch bc I still couldn't finish them! Big portions! Very delicious! We had a great server even tho we sat at the counter. I believe her name was Liann? I know it was Li something. I'll have to find my receipt and update. She was very kind and helpful for it being our 1st time there. Love love loved everything about the restaurant. Especial the decor😉. Anyway all that food and a lemonade for my kid and our bill was just under $25!!!! Makes it even more awesome! Definately worth the drive! Can't...
