We had the most delightful dinner at Fin's at Sharky's! We dined with snowbird friends who winter in Venice at Fin's one recent lovely Friday evening. I have to say it was one of the most memorable experiences my husband and I ever had. I'm a foodie and when we travel, we look for the best of the local fare and Fin's is definitely one of the best! The ambiance in the restaurant is vibrant and lively but not so that loud that it mars the experience. Fin's is located right on the beach, if you are lucky enough to catch the sunset, you have a front row seat from most of the restaurant! The cocktail and wine offerings were wonderful. Lots to choose from but I absolutely LOVED the Sea Foam Margarita. And if I hadn't been the driver, I'd have had a second one! The menu is spectacular with so many delicious offerings. My husband had the Canadian Sea Bass dinner and absolutely loved it, especially the purple Okinawa coconut potato on the plate. Our friend really enjoyed the Faroe Island Salmon. My friend and I each had the Rock Lobster tail and it was delicious and really large! Each dish was perfectly prepared. Before the meal we had the Strawberry Blush Salad and the baby Iceberg Salad. We took home a piece of chocolate cake and had it later. Yes, all four of us shared it. All we each needed was a bite after that wonderful meals. Oh, and the bread service with the four "dips" was the bomb! We didn't sample the sushi but I saw several orders of it and it looked fantastic! Now we need to talk about Simon. Simon was our terrific waiter. I have to believe when he isn't working his tail off at Fin's, he's moonlighting at a comedy club. He was one of the best waiters we have ever had the pleasure to experience. And when we are at Fin's again, we will certainly request to sit in his area. And yes I know posting this review praising him will lessen my chances of being successful in requesting his table, but it's worth the risk. He deserves all the kudos we can give him! And I say that on behalf of everyone at the table from the standpoint of being business owners in the cities we're from. We two couples are small businesses owners who serve the public and our success depends on good people who choose to work for us and the way they treat our customers is of the utmost importance to our success. Simon was very knowledgeable about the menu, gave good suggestions which, to our delight, we followed, was unobtrusively attentive to our every need and kept us laughing the entire time we interacted with him. He's a gem and it is clear he likes what he does. We can't wait to come back to Florida to dine at Fin's again! Be sure to make a...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars – Thanks Sharkey’s, for Not Seating Us!
We only ended up at Finns at Sharkey’s because the host at Sharkey’s proper wouldn’t seat a party of three while my wife and kid were in the restroom. The place wasn’t even remotely busy, so it felt like a power move from someone who peaked in middle school. But honestly? That rejection was the best thing that’s happened to my taste buds in a long time.
First up, the grilled octopus. I’ve had octopus from New York to Tokyo, but this one? Easily top five in my life. Perfect sous vide tenderness with just the right amount of char—if Zeus himself ordered seafood, this would be on his plate.
The cocktails were another level. Their cherry-smoked Old Fashioned should come with a warning label: “May cause involuntary sighs of happiness and unrealistic life expectations.” Smooth, balanced, and aromatic—it’s basically therapy in a glass.
Crab cakes? Oh, they weren’t playing around. Full of crab. Like, actual crab. Not the “breadcrumbs with a personality disorder” you get elsewhere.
And don’t get me started on the rolls. The lobster special roll was a full-blown culinary flex—layers of flavor that had me wondering if the chef moonlights as a magician.
All of this with views that could humble an Instagram influencer. Ocean, sky, breeze—it was like dining in a travel magazine.
The real kicker? The staff at Finns were everything the Sharkey’s side wasn’t: professional, warm, and accommodating. No ego, no nonsense. Just hospitality done right.
We lucked out getting seated without a reservation, but don’t gamble like we did—this place fills fast. Luckily, grabbing a table is quick and painless through OpenTable, Google, or their own site.
So, moral of the story: sometimes you’ve gotta get snubbed by a Sharkey to find a Finn. And in this case, I’m grateful...
Read moreI don’t really know how to start this… Wow. 5 starts is only half the rating I’d give them. This was beyond amazing. I got the Raspberry Lime mint Mocktail, and it was absolutely stunning. Our server brought us out bread, and four spreads. There was the olive artichoke tamponade, spinach cream cheese dip, garlic hummus and strawberry butter. All of them were absolutely delicious, and I couldn’t choose a favorite. We got Special Spicy Tuna sushi roll. That was absolutely fantastic. The tuna was amazing, and was just perfect. For dinner, I got the seared Mahi Mahi. It was phenomenal. The crust was great, and the salsa was delicious. The Coconut Risotto was great; and the Grilled asparagus was amazing. The pineapple sauce with the Mahi Mahi was out of this world. The other people in the part got the Smoked Ribeye and the Shrimp pasta with the tarragon sauce. The smoked ribeye was fantastic, and the mashed potatoes were beyond words. The tarragon sauce was a bit weird at first, but once you had a few bites. It was awesome!! For dessert, we got the Caramel Hummingbird cake and the Key Lime Crème Brûlée. The hummingbird cake melted on your tongue, and the flavors were awesome. The key lime brûlée was absolutely beyond words. The flavors were amazing, and all of the flavors just mended together.
Our service… was on another level. I cannot remember her name, but she was amazing. In the beginning, she gave us the rundown of the place; which was extremely helpful as we had no idea what to order. She had recommendations, and even helped us make a decision. The waitress was attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of.
All in all, this was an out of the world, phenomenal experience, and well worth every single penny we spent. The people were super nice, and the food was...
