Hey Google, can you add more stars so I can give a higher rating? I have lived in the DFW area for 63 years, and have never had an "Exceptional" pizza; that description was reserved for just a very small handful of special places I have come across in other parts of the country (NYC, CT, Phoenix, and Chicagoland) during my extensive travels on business. But, that changed today! My wife and I ate lunch today at Biundo's Restaurant in the quaint little "downtown" of Venus TX. And I have to say that I was floored at how exceptionally great the pizza was. We ordered the thin crust Biundo Special pizza (loaded with Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onion, green pepper, and black olives, although we substituted green olives for the black ones), and I was instantly reminded of some of the great Chicago style thin crust pizzas I had in and near the Windy City. And the ambiance of this place was awesome (old historic building, circa 1910 or so). We went early (got there at 11:15), so it was not crowded at all, and that gave us a chance to chat with Jennifer (one of the owners) and hear her great story about moving her family from the Chicago area to down here to open a restaurant. We live in SW Arlington (near the lake), and it only took us 27 minutes to get there in light traffic, so don't be scared of the location. Located 2 blocks of Hwy 67, it is a comfortable drive not only from Arlington, but also Mansfield, Midlothian, Burleson, S Dallas etc. Cannot wait to go back and try their Chicago style stuffed pizza, as well as some of their pasta dishes.

It was decent. We drove down from Mansfield to Venus to eat dinner at Biundo's. My wife is a Chicago native and we both love Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. She found a review somewhere for Biundo's so we decided to give it a try. We were here on a Saturday night, around 7 pm. It was moderately busy but still plenty of seating. Our server got us seated and gave us menus. When she came back to take our drink order, we also knew what we wanted to eat. We ordered: - Two Yuengling beers - Lasagna - Small Pan Pizza with Cheese, Sausage and Mushroom The beer was cold and she also brought us two beer mugs from the freezer. Nice. The food came about 20 minutes later and it was hot. We enjoyed the Lasagna, though I thought it could have used another layer of lasagna noodle in it. Still - quite tasty. The pizza had a tall side crust. The crust on the side and bottom were crispy and pretty thin. The sausage was tasty and there was plenty of cheese. Next time, we're going to order it with more sauce, maybe skip the mushrooms and do double sausage. So while the Pan pizza is definitely not Chicago style deep dish pizza, for what it was - it was good. We'd come back to Biundo's and maybe tweak the pizza as mentioned above and try a different pasta and add a salad.

I had high expectations after reading all the glowing reviews about this place. But after rating here, my experience was very disappointing. I ordered Italian beef. The waitress asked if I wanted peppers. Typically Italian beef sandwich comes with grilled onions and pepper. I only found out after receiving the bill that they charge $1.50 extra for sweet peppers. As you can see from the photo attached, that the sandwich had very little beef after they stuffed it with peppers. The bun was a hoggie bun, not Italian bread, and charred black on the bottom. The fries were all charred and soggy. When I asked why the fries were soggy, the waitress replied that because they were "hand cut" fries. I've had lots of hand cut fries before, and none are this bad. This was just a basic lack of knowledge that fries need to be double fried to be crispy. The only saving grace was tirimusu, but the portion was way too small for $7.50. I only wrote this review based on my person experience on a Saturday lunch. There are much better choices for Italian food in DFW area.

I stopped by for a pickup/ takeout order last Tuesday. When I arrived they appeared to be short staffed as there was no one at the front.

I noticed the inside was fairly warm, considering the temp outside was near 100°F, I guess that can be expected, but it would have been too warm for me to enjoy a meal inside, I felt.

I was provided a menu by a very helpful young lady who came from the back. I sat at one of the empty tables and considered my order.

My choices were the bread nuggets, spaghetti with meat sauce and the fettuccine Alfredo over linguine.

As I stated, they appeared short staffed, so I waited for someone to come back and take my order. They took my name and my phone number, which seemed odd for a walk-in, to-go order

After placing the order and being told it would be 20-25 minutes I walked outside and sat on the bench in front. The southern breeze was not too bad and I found Venus to be a very small cute town.

I walked back inside and inquired where the restroom was and used the facilities.

When my order was ready, I paid by card and left a nice tip.

When I arrived at home, about 25 miles away, I found the bag contained two of my three items. I did a cursory look in the bag before I left and saw three items, the two pasta dishes and a small white bag which contained two foil-wrapped bread pieces. Each piece about 3/4" by 1.5". I wondered to myself if that was their order of bread nuggets and argued with myself there was no way that was worth $8.50.

I called back and they acknowledged my bread nuggets were there, on top of the oven. I didn't relish the idea of an hour round trip to go pick them up, so I asked if I could get some fresh ones on my next order, which the young lady agreed to. I am disappointed that when they discovered my missing item they didn't ring my phone so I could return before I got home and had to call them, but the staffing issue I observed probably prevented that action.

The food was good, I don't know that it qualified as a top-tier offering and I certainly feel, for the price and presentation, it was overrated.

The spaghetti mostly filled the take out container and had a decent serving of meat sauce on top. My wife said it was good and couldn't finish it.

I had opted for the Alfredo and found it was a good portion but seemed to lack enough Alfredo sauce to know at a glance to know if it was just linguine alone.

Take out at other places I have ordered from usually have a good portion of sauce covering the pasta and there is certainly leftover sauce to clean up with a crunchy piece of bread afterwards. That was not my experience with this order.

Overall I found the food good, but lacking that extra touch to make it stand out above the crowd. A sprinkle of chives on the linguine would have been a nice touch to break up the plainness.

And, for the price, I found the food was sub-par, in my opinion. Would it have been better dining it? I have no doubt. If I had been dining in and the food arrived as it was when I got home, I would have asked about the lack of Alfredo sauce and I certainly would have gotten my bread nuggets.

I rarely do take out for that reason. I find it is always a better experience to dine in and after reading the positive reviews, I really wanted to give them a try.

I wish them well and will likely stop by again when it is cooler to give them a try inside. If you will read my other reviews I try to be as honest as possible without destroying a business. My guess is their short staff and influx of customers might have been a bit overwhelming. Hopefully my comments will help them with what I feel are their...

I don't often leave bad reviews but this restaurant really deserves a bad review. On Saturday my husband and I went to go have dinner we thought we would try a new Italian place. We proceed to place our order I requested a diet Coke I was told they don't have diet Coke no worries I took a Coke zero not a problem. We proceed to get our food which she got my order completely wrong. I had ordered baked zini and a meat sauce I got baked zini with watered down marinara sauce. I didn't want to complain so I ate it no big deal. I need a refill on my drink so I asked her very politely can I please have a refill. She takes my cup comes back 10 minutes later by the way and tells me they're all out of Coke zero someone forgot to order it okay well I guess I'll have a cup of water. Still trying to be positive okay. Then she proceeds to tell me well I guess I can give you a diet Coke for her to go orders really. That wasn't an option for me I would have more than willingly paid for it to go diet Coke if anybody doesn't understand there is a huge taste difference whatever no big deal. She brings me out the diet Coke to go proceeds to charge me for a second drink on the bill again let it go. As my husband and I are sitting there finishing up our food and going over the bill three young ladies in the back were all arguing over one waitress owed another one money and she was going to take her tip and again they're arguing with customers in the establishment. I don't know if this is a normal behavior or not but this was absolutely a horrifying experience I hope others who go here have a better experience I really do. I love Italian food I am Italian I am actually from Italy so when I go to Italian places I might be a little harsher but when you order something a certain way you should get it how you ordered it. You're response back was absolutely positively rude you were not in the restaurant so you have no clue what was going on. I'm telling you it was absolutely rude service The food was not what I ordered and I'm not going to argue and yes your waitresses were arguing in the back corner Yes they were. And it's perfectly fine I will never patron your establishment ever again and if anybody ask I will share this information with them have a wonderful day.

And this will be the last time I respond to you how dare you sit here and tell me how my experience was or was not in that restaurant. I know what I heard I know what I saw and I did not have a good time The fact that you feel it's okay to basically tell me I'm lying that my experience was not how I was is a horrible horrible person. And that's okay cuz I honestly like I told you I will never be at your establishment ever ever again and that's perfectly fine. So bless your heart you have a...

Bf and I went to try this place as we've heard a lot of good things. It's a bit of a drive but we made it in around 2pm. We got the stuffed pizza with 3 toppings and an appetizer(fried mushrooms). I asked the waitress about the portion size and she said it was a decent size, but there was about 6-7 mushrooms total which I thought wasn't that great for more than one person to enjoy...but they were good. When we got the stuffed pizza it looked very delicious BUT it was extremely salty, which made it hard to eat. I ate a piece (& tried to eat another but couldn't finish bcuz too salty) and the bf had 2, but I was watching him to see if maybe it was just me who thought it was too salty as I have high blood pressure so I've lowered my salt intake a lot and maybe it was just me. He also said it was extremely salty. We are not sure if it was our toppings or the seasoning, but we got black olives, pepperoni, and mushrooms (we suspect maybe it was the black olives). I thought maybe they're just having an off day, we'll try again later, but when I received the bill the appetizer was not the menu item price. I asked the waitress and she said items are subject to price change at any time which is fine but I was not made aware when I ordered them and was under the assumption it was the menu item price. I authorized it under this dollar amount not that dollar amount. Atleast fix the menu price (white out or marked IDC) or verbally let us know at ordering. This really rubbed me the wrong way and I told the bf we will not be back. How many people were charged extra on items without their knowledge? To me this is not good business practice and I do not care if it's 50 cents or $1.70 it's not okay and I should be notified prior to purchase because an extra $1.70 could make it a no for me and not want the item altogether. Check your receipts and pricing...
