My taste buds got a Lebanese passport and are never coming home. Let me set the scene: I walked into Anthony and Villa of Lebanon thinking I’d be having a light dinner. I walked out an hour later, emotionally attached to a plate of hummus and seriously considering naming my firstborn “Baba Ghanoush.” The hummus? So smooth it could probably get a job as a motivational speaker. If angels ever learned how to cook, this is what they’d bring to the potluck. The pickled garlic was a great compliment to the rest of the food, and strong enough to ward off vampires, exes, and possibly low self-esteem. Then came the lamb shawarma. Tender, juicy, perfectly spiced. I took one bite and instantly forgot my own name. I’m pretty sure my phone’s facial recognition didn’t recognize me afterward because I had spiritually ascended. By dessert, I was too full to move. But then someone said “pistachio baklava” and I suddenly found strength that I didn’t know I had. It was flaky, buttery, and unapologetically sweet. It was so perfect, I almost stood up and clapped. Service? Impeccable. Our server thanked us, but truly, it was him that we should have been thanking. In conclusion: this wasn’t a meal, it was a spiritual awakening with extra garlic. 10/10 would risk hummus-induced bliss again.

When I saw that Villa of Lebanon was opening a second location, I was absolutely thrilled! Then I realized how dangerous it is to have incredible Lebanese food so close to home. This is my go-to for comfort food. It is always amazing, well prepared and GENEROUSLY portioned. My favorite, spicy chicken schwarma, feeds me for literally three days. The plates are a wonderful mix of savory and spicy with a variety of sides included; pita, hummus, pickled veggies and a lovely little side salad. They also are a wonderful halal option! Our favorite appetizers, falafel and kebbeh, are crunchy and delicious and always perfectly fried. The owners are super super nice and welcome their patrons as friends. I cannot recommend this place enough and I'm so glad that they are in our neighborhood. My waistline is angry, but my heart and tummy are happy!

Portion sizes are large. 1 entree can easily be shared between 2 people. We went there on a weekday for dinner. It was empty and we were the only ones there. The service was ok. We expected the tea to be something like a whole leaf tea but it was just a Bigelow tea bag. We had ordered Baba ganoush as appetizers. It came with an Lavash-like thin bread. The baba ganoush tasted great. For the main course we ordered for Chicken shawarma plate and a 2 meat (spicy chicken shwarma and lamb) plate. These came with rice, hummus, pita bread, and salad. The food overall tasted great. The portion size was large. In the end we had to pick up the left overs and we ate 2 more meals with that next day.

So this place in vernon was my first pizza spot when I moved back to the manchester area, despite it just over the town line in vernon. The pizza made a great first impression. The owner isn't exactly Mr. Personable. But the food is solid, and they know how to season and cook their food well.

The grinders are, in my opinion, the best 16-inch ones currently in the area, followed by Andyi's pizza in Manchester, which wins on value and better quality bread, but Anthony's wins on everything else in terms of taste, quality meats and fillings, and how stuffed they can be, although like most places, a bit less so these days. But, with Anthony's you pay for that quality. They aren't cheap, and the bread is standard fare I'm the area. Andi's wins on value and bread. But if cost isn't an issue, it is get Anthony's every time.

Both places here are better than CJs which is overpriced, thin, dry, and has gone downhill. What I like about Anthony's is they actually cook their bacon, no pre cooked or bacon bits on that grinder or pizza and when you ask for extra anything here, be it pizza or grinder, they really do it. Most places don't and just charge you more for the same amount, basically.

Apps are solid but overpriced. Can't speak to the Italian dinners. I go to joey garlics for that, but they could be decent given the rest. Calzones are tasty and seasoned but not generously filled like their grinders. Their are better spots for that. All the pizzas are yummy, but not massive. the crust is seasoned, etc. I recommend a white pie with bacon and ricotta. 🤌

UPDATE: It is now under new ownership by a Muslim family who stuck gigantic food truck next to the building serving gyros. It's definitely weird. It's definitely...

I lived in Vernon for 25 years and I have to say normally I only write bad reviews .. But today I have decided to write a good review because of the impeccable service I received from Dave and his employees . I have tried everything in there at one point or another and not once did I ever complain .Alway had great service and great food .. But just like any other business there will be a mistake made at some point , especially being in business as long Dave has been there . So I called Dave and I asked him about my order and he even remembered the order .. He knew why and how the mistake was made.. unfortunately it was a staff member that made the mistake and I understood especially in today’s times trying to find good help to keep the business running .. He was apologetic and wanted to give me a free meal and I told him no that was not necessary . Here it is Christmas Eve and I was doing some last-minute shopping and I wanna grab my favorite meal . apparently Dave remembered my voice over the phone and he gave me a meal for free that was more then the meal that was made wrong .. I thought I could fool him going in there with my cash in hand ready to pay and he remembered the conversation and gave me the meal and said merry Christmas !!! Well Dave merry Christmas to you and your family as well thanks for being there for your community...

My husband and I enjoy Lebanese food, Mediterranean food so we stopped in to try this place. We were met by a man in all black with visible food on his clothes front an back. Obviously had been cooking with no apron an had wiped his hands on his rear. This should have been our sign to turn around but he was very nice so we decided to sit anyway. He said since it was our first time there to try the entree. We did we got the 2 meat platter an a chicken shawarma wrap. The shawarma wrap was ok unfortunately chicken didnt seem seasoned. Overall maybe a 5 out 10 compared to other places. The entree we ordered was the lamb shawarma an spicy chicken shawarma. The dish came with bread that had clearly been previously heated an stored an served to us unfortunately. It was like trying to eat cardboard with hummus on it. The lamb was very dry. The spicy chicken was the best of the 3 meats we tried it had flavor an a kick which was nice. The hummus was good but unfortunately no bread to eat it with. Overall we were disappointed, based on the previous reviews we were excited to try but sadly not accurate for us. Which was my main motivator for leaving this review. I hope the owner sees this an makes some necessary changes. Unfortunately this place missed the mark an details like fresh bread an a clean appearance would have us give this place...
