I hereby update my review: RIPOFF RIPOFF RIPOFF! Avoid like the plague unless you enjoy getting ripped off. I was a customer over 10 years and now I will never order from Gino ever again. We ordered a large meatball parm and our usual medium half buffalo chicken half meatlovers pie and he charged us 38 bucks for the pizza! The pizza and the $12 sandwich came to 53 bucks total! When I told him the pie was usually around 25 bucks Gino just kept saying 'it's my new menu'...and the menu says 24.99 for meat lovers, 23.99 for the 911. For the last 10 years the half and half pies were charged the greater of the two...not 50 percent more than a whole, which it does not state anywhere on the new menu. But he kept insisting it was 'the new menu'. I should've walked out but he had already ran the credit card. STAY AWAY he will rip you off too! Old review: I'll start by saying the girl in the other review was right, the slices weren't as big or as good as Angelina's, but it was great for this side of the river. Moved up here fm the Bronx, so me and the wife have pizza issues. Not here. Walked in and saw a little shifty looking guy, who's actually Italian, making the food and cracking "jokes", with some hardworking guys backing him up, and felt right at home. Great pizza, no squares unless it's a party pizza, with plenty of great tasting ingredients on top. Their heroes and wings and lasagna are great, too. If you like pizza made by someone from the wrong continent and automatically cut in squares, this isn't the...
Read moreSo, my wife and I were hankering for some pizza, but we felt like trying something different from what we usually order. After digging through a "pizza delivery" Google search that, for whatever reason, also listed a bunch of Chinese places, we stumbled upon Antonio's website -- and the adventure began.
It was a simple site bearing an Italian flag with some BOOMING "That's Amore" playing in the background advertising for a place I'd never heard of in a part of town I rarely visited. I immediately knew that I had to give them a try.
It was par-for-the-course in terms of what you'd expect from an Italian menu, up until I got towards the bottom of the pizza list and saw the Steak Bomb and Godfather pizzas. I also noticed that there wasn't a "large" on their list of sizes, only "super large," but I just assumed it was flavor text a la Starbucks or something similar.
We ended up going with a super large pepperoni, and after seeing how big their "super large" is, I can't see their party pizza being delivered in anything other than a hearse with a team of four guys to carry it. Not only was our pizza absolutely massive, but it was wonderfully well-made with a perfectly-done crust that was neither too soft nor too hard -- instead, it was chewy and just right. Even better; I'm going to be eating it for the rest of the week.
This place knows how to do a pizza. If you're looking for something a little different, give Antonio's a try. We'll be ordering from them again,...
Read moreI liked the pizza but I just paid $20 even for a small pizza with one topping! First, they claim bigger pizzas but that’s because whatever size you’re ordering, you’re getting the next size up but also paying for it. They don’t use enough sauce, it gets very dry fast. So I ordered a little extra sauce. I always order extra sauce everywhere and never get charged for that as a topping. This place is the only place that charges for it as another topping. And even though I highlighted only a little extra sauce they still charged me full extra price for it and it still could have used more sauce. I’m not sure they put any extra sauce on it. Then they said it was $20 even which is more than the cost of the pizza and toppings and tax. They round up without letting you know and are basically charging you extra without asking. Regardless whether paying by cash or card. Even if it’s fifteen cents it still counts and adds up. At least ask. I like the pizza (if it had a little more sauce) but not a fan of the...
