Update: I downgraded them another star for being extremely petty and thin-skinned in their review responses. It's a really bad look. Also, I usually revisit by now if I have solid experiences a practice that is rewarded by myself and the establishment, but with the unreliable inventory, odd hours, and 'tude, I've lost interest.
Update: I have to downgrade them a star. This is the best BBQ I’ve ever had in Florida, but it’s just not available more often than not. The final straw is that they’re randomly closed at 12:30 on a Saturday and nothing is updated on social media. I get that they’re small and BBQ isn’t like making Pop Tarts. However, out of the 6/7 times I’ve come or called, only once have they been open and had what I wanted in stock. It’s not practical to have a one or two hour window when you can get food and no food at Saturday an hour after you open doesn’t cut it. Sorry. This is honest, fair feedback with the hope I can get my favorite BBQ on a consistent basis.
This is a 10/10. We’re lucky to have this quality of bbq in Vero Beach. The real deal. They do their BBQ Texas style (Hill Country is my guess) and don’t beat your head in with smoke or sauce. I got a brisket sandwich and loved it and I don’t like brisket...
Read moreI took the family here last Saturday. After hearing about the place on TikTok and reading the reviews I was so excited to have some amazing bbq. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the entire experience. First off the space is very small. 4 small tables that would only fit 2 people. There are picnic tables outside, but they look gross and not inviting.
I order the 3 meat platter. Brisket, sausage, and ribs. The brisket was supposed to be a “wet” cut, but it was one of the driest pieces of brisket I’ve ever ate. The sausage was good but a little bland. The ribs were by far the star of the show. We showed up around noon and half the sides we wanted were gone. No big deal. I’m pretty flexible. We ended up with tater tots and Mac and cheese. The tater tots were still frozen in the middle. The Mac and cheese was good. Baked beans were okay. My son had the brisket sandwich, which he liked, but said it wasn’t as good as buccees.
If I lived closer I would probably try this place again, but being so far south with other bbq places I think I’ll stick closer to home next time I get a craving...
Read moreWow...I really wanted to like this place. But instead, I LOVED it! If you're in the Vero Beach area...or not, and you're hungry, I seriously suggest you try this place. It's small and in a pretty quiet area off the main road (but very close to Rt. 1). Not many seats inside, maybe 10? And there are picnic tables outside. It's straight up legit, Texas BBQ that would inspire the best BBQ masters (no, not a paid review lol). You can order by the lb or 1, 2 or 3 meat plates. Sides are typical...mac n cheese, slaw, beans....all good. They also have a kid's menu. We ordered half pound each: sausage (spicy and non-spicy), brisket (moist not lean) and wait for it......the best pork belly burnt ends I've ever had. They open at 10:30am Wednesday - Saturday I believe (check that) and they close when they run out of cooked food or 5pm. Get there early. I spent about 5 years traveling frequently to Austin Texas and I ate a ton of this amazing food. Here in Florida, I've found decent "Texas" BBQ, but this is next level. Give...
