Short of it... The place is a Home Run! Details... I first learned of Borino's from my Bother Todd. Our mother was residing at Green Hill, and over time it was considered mom's favorite. Plenty of options, and ill that we had was very good, good portions and modest pricing. I think this place is probably a local hub for service people and contractors, who know where the food is good and inexpensive. Mom was not eating regularly, so I took a shot and called Chris, and asked if I could open a prepaid account for my mom, to my surprise he said sure. So I put a considerable sum on a card a gave my mom a menu. She was excited and ordered wings and cheesesteak wedges. Chris always made sure the food was slivered to my mom on hand, that in itself is priceless. As life moves forward, my mom passed away at Green Hill. It took quit awhile to settle her estate, and I found myself at GreenHill to retrieve her belongings. So I stopped in Borino's to let them know. Chris wasn't there, so I just had wings and a steak wedge to honor mom. The place was pretty low key, not really a first date place, but it was clean, the help are very congenial and genuinely concerned that my good was good, and the bathroom was presentable. I highly recommend Borino's for good food, great people, and value. And especially because they shine with goodness in such a dark world. They really blessed me , my mother, and...
Read moreGreat food, great people, and great deals! Borinos is an unpretentious, honest, delicious classic red sauce and slice joint serving up stupendous offerings. With their bests imo being the Sicilian which they should start calling the "Omerta" because I have no idea what the secrets are, as to why it is so good and stands so far above other Sicilians in the area. Their Grandma's pie is also spectacular. as it is not quite a Neopolitian pie but also not quite a New York style but exists somewhere in between it reminds me of a DiFara's slice;top tier. Their dinners are also tremendous both hearty and affordable. They also have great salad and sandwich options and are always willing to accommodate almost any request. So long as you dont ask for gummy worms on a chicken parmigiana hero. The staff is nothing but great. always appreciative of their customers so unlike those "take the money onto the next one" sleazy business owners. Bobby the main dough guru is a laugh riot and beacon of great energy. A true artisian only without the snobbery. As for the deals Tuesday all day they have a 10 dollar pie deal, along with other rotating promotions. Overall this is a great place to have in this community from the delicious food to the kind...
Read moreLet me start with the complimentary bread that they give you is absolutely amazing. If they freshly make it on-site I know their pizza crust is bomb. Now I also ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which sadly I wasn't pleasantly pleased with. I feel as though for the thickness of the bread (which wasn't the one that was given complimentary) the chicken cutlet is too small. I suggest they either add more chicken or changing the style of chicken they use, This would be more suitable for a wrap...this needs a juicer cut of meat. The curly fries were great nice and crisp. My friend enjoyed their meal, Shrimp Scampi.
I'm hearing their cheesesteak is really good there so I'll probably try that next. Oddly that was my original plan but then said let's go for chicken.
As I said the complimentary bread is so good it makes the visit well worth it
I did have the other half as leftovers and heating the roll did help the thickness of the bread so maybe that's the trick. So I'll keep that in mind. It also reheated quite well in...
