I would definitely order take out and not the buffet. The buffet is small, and often has been sitting a while (at least outside of lunch), but take out is fresh and fast. I am NOT a fan of the "standard favorites" like general tso or sesame like my kids are, but some of their less ordered foods are absolutely amazing. Subgum wonton is very good, almost like a happy family or triple delight with fried wontons on top. They also have several very delicious vegetarian options that center on bean curd (like a porous tofu) and veggies. I highly recommend the bean curd with veggies in brown sauce, if you don't want to order meat. It seems they take a special care when preparing foods that are ordered less often, and everything "unusual" I have ever ordered has been the absolute best, while common items are no better or worse than anywhere else. Their fried wontons are delicious, and come in a very generous order (10) as does their wonton soup, both of which are very affordable. The entrees seem a little expensive, especially if you are from the city and have that special lunch place you go to all the time, but they are generously portioned and contain fresh broccoli and veggies, not frozen. They do have lunch specials, but not all day, and I personally would rather have white rice and leftovers for lunch the next day for a couple...
Read moreAs some one who has lived in Missouri their entire life, been to every local restaurant more times than I can remember then seeing all these "critics" giving a one star review because they compare it to some "5 star restaurant" in their state. Not even going to the state they are criticizing the restaurant in, makes me SICK! I went to Texas, Tried a replica restaurant that was fancier, bigger, and was a "go up and grab it yourself" kind of buffet. The food there wasn't even good. Most of the options were just breaded chicken, sugary sweets, or half done rice. They focused to much on implementing the culture of the people who the restaurant is based around and did a terrible joke actually making the food. This China buffet isn't focused to make the fancy as possible, it's a takeout and we always ordered take out and it never ruined the experience. The food is 10 times better than what I've had of "Chinese" styled food in forever. If you never went to a Chinese styled place or at least this place, I would recommend the dumplings and the crab Rangoon as...
Read moreTried this place first time, carry-out. -2 for unfriendliness. The woman was mean and very hard to understand. She would get angry and yell at me when I couldn't guess what she was saying. I was the only customer in there, so it wasn't due to her being overworked or pre-occupied. -1 for cleanliness/atmosphere. I immediately smelled something rotting when inside. Atmosphere was possibly the worst "restaurant" I had ever been in. -1 for food. Quality and cost was on par with most other asian places, nothing special. but I realized they only gave me half of my rice when I got home. +1 for timeliness. Took about 15min for the order, like they said.
Needless to say, I cannot recommend this establishment and will not...
