Veracruz Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Versailles

When we got there, the restaurant wasn't very busy. We stood at the door for a few minutes before we were seated. Once we were seated, the waiter took our drink order. He was gone for a long time. We sat there for several minutes before anyone brought chips and salsa to the table. We finally received our drinks, I ordered a margarita and my wife ordered water. The margarita was not very good, but I wasn't going to send it back because it was apparent by this time that there was only three waiters in the building and it appeared that our waiter was either new or was not very good because he wasn't keeping up with the other tables in our area. The table behind us was already complaining about their order not being correct. We waited and waited and waited for our food to finally come. We ran out of chips and salsa and finally another waiter came to give us some more chips and salsa. While we were waiting, they seated approximately 12 people at one table in our area. Those people were complaining they couldn't get chips and salsa either. When we got our food, my wife's food was barely warm. It was closer to room temperature. As I said before, we weren't going to send it back because it was evident we would have had to wait another long time to get our food. I ate what I could of my food and my wife didn't even eat half of what was on her plate because by this time, the food was pretty much cold. When we got up to pay our bill, my wife told the person that was at the cash register, that her food was cold and we couldn't get refills on chips and salsa and we had to wait for a long time to even get our food. The man at the cashier said that nobody else had complained so he didn't see any problem. He didn't seem concerned that we had a bad experience. We paid our bill and left. After that, I will never ever go to Veracruz again. To top it off, I was awake all night long from being sick in the bathroom from eating their terrible food. Taco Bell has much better food than...

This is the first and last time I'll visit this location. We came into an older male with white in his eyebrow on the phone with what im guessing was a customer. He was clearly irritated and short with whomever he was on the phone with while we patiently waited to be seated. We had a party of six with a couple of little kids so it took us a minute to figure out what everyone wanted. It took him forever to come back and get out order. The table next to us got their food and ate before he took our order. Im sure he was irritated that we weren't ready and then decided to wait a long time to come back and take our order. I ordered for my son and then asked about what was on a menu item, he told me and I decided to order something else bc it wasn't what I thought it was. He huffed at me and ripped the ticket off to start over. You could literally cut the tension with a knife, eveyone at the table was pretty uncomfortable at that point. The food took a while and it was 2 star at best. We usually go to Veracruz Tres in Lincon so this was a stark difference in food quality and hospitality. We weren't a difficult table, he had a bad attitude before we even walked in the door. We were definitely anticipating the same warm, friendly environment Veracruz usually provides but we were sadly mistaken. I dont know if they were just having an off day, but it was not a good experience and we won't be back to the Versailles location. The food wasnt good and very little servings for the money! My daughter has her bday here every year. We had a waiter that didn't speak good English. I ordered, my fiance, my daughter and her daughter n 4 sodas. My daughter bf ordered 1 meal 1 water, my daughter friend ordered 1 meal 2 margarita. Got our bills. Her bf paid for his separate. Her friend went to pay for hers and owner said the waiter put it all on one ticket. She come n got my ticket and paid for a meal n 2 drinks. My fiance went n paid for the rest. They all leave. We start to leave n the waiter comes out yelling at me I didn't pay. I said yes I did. I have my receipt. He said margaritas not paid. I said ok I don't drink. It's not my bill. My bill is paid. He said your friend. I said no she's my daughters friend. He said I got your plates wrote down n I'll call the cops. I said call them. I'm 50 yrs old n never been in trouble. He said don't you ever come in this restaurant again. I called my daughter n she come back n her friend come back. The owner come out n said 1 meal and 2 drinks not paid for. He looked at me. I said I don't drink alcohol n I'm not paying for it. He said you all 3 paid but we have an extra ticket. He said you don't want to pay ok. I said your waiter was very rude to me.
