Western Hills Motel — Hotel in Versailles

My parents recently moved to Versailles and when we had a large family gathering, we need a place to put most of us up for the weekend. My mom chose this place and made all the arrangements with owners, who were so nice and polite I might add. This is a true example of a family owned and operated motel and being a hotelier myself, I certainly appreciate the local family aspect. I liked that the owners were very friendly and the way they treated my other family members, especially my mom when booking. It is small, so they are able to without a doubt provide their service without being overwhelmed. We stayed two nights and it was nice that they told us to just give them a call if we needed anything - otherwise, they were very non-invasive and I like that. I don't care for people entering my room when I'm away and I felt like that was my place for the weekend. Something about having a real brass key is cool too. There was a little area in the front of the center building where we could gather and enjoy the nice weather at the evening when we weren't in town. Rooms were cozy, nothing over the top but that should be expected. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered Wifi, considering the location and that it isn't as common in more rural areas like Versailles. We are from central Nebraska and had business in Versailles area to pick up steel barn siding. Since we rarely get much free time we decided to make a short vacation out of the trip. Long story kinda short, the condo we leased near the lake wouldn’t allow our trailer and slapped a tow sticker on it. The lots that rent trailer spots wouldn’t be open until the next morning so we left our $400 condo the same night and drove back to Versailles. Found this little motel with an open sign at almost midnight and was promptly checked in for 2 nights. We were welcome to leave the trailer at the grounds while we went exploring the next day. The room was clean , non Smoking with comfy king sized bed and great air conditioning which I will say was sadly lacking at the high dollar place we were supposed to stay at! The owner was cordial and always busy, friendly to talk to. Would recommend this place to anyone I know! Pool was very nice and clean! The most rude hateful ppl who own and operate this hotel. Required a 100 deposit and said it wouldn't show back up on our card till 3-10business days, when we called and questioned it, the guy said he was charging us for stains on the sheets from pizza, funny thing was we didn't eat on the beds and we threw our leftover pizza away in the trash, then they had a problem with us pulling our dirty sheets off the bed. Granted the room has been updated but the housekeeping could be a bit better, found hair in the tub, the staff was rude and hateful,the room wasn't up to par, considering I'm a professional housekeeper.
