Wow folks. If you know me, you know it's pretty difficult to get a five-star rating from me. I try to be very objective with my ratings, and not just throw them out like candy. This is one of those fairly rare times.

Our church group gets together at a different restaurant the first Friday of every month. We chose Pita Stop Express for July. Unfortunately, due to most months having less than 8 members of our small church attend, we don't often ask for members to let us know that they are coming. Well, that must change. A busy Friday night for the restaurant, and we asked for a table to accommodate 6 or 8 people. We even advised the owner if he didn't have tables together, we were willing to split up. They were having none of that and insisted on setting us up all together. Apparently, this choice of restaurant enticed many more members than we planned. As time went on, we ended up with 14 people. I was embarrassed to keep going back to the owner and staff asking to add a table here and there. They were nothing less that accommodating, and even seemed willing to go way above and beyond our requests. After the 12th or so person showed up, we decided to split into two groups so as to not cause further problems. The manager and staff were extremely accommodating and made our visit that much better.

The food was delicious, and I only heard rave reviews from the other members who visited for the first time. There were several of us who had been before and love the place. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. Thank you, Pita Stop Express, for your excellent reception of our little group. I guarantee we will be back. Maybe with an even...

I went here due to a recommendation from a friend and wanted to give it a try. The first time I dined here I really didn't care for the meal I had ordered but the wait staff did an excellent job of service and were friendly and while I was eating I noticed my waitress had passed me with someone else's meal on her way from the kitchen. I thought it looked like a huge steak sandwich and was impressed so when she came back I asked her what that was and she told me it was one of their best sellers, a burger!! I decided at that moment that even though my current meal was not all that impressive I just had to try the burger sometime so came back to do just that!! This place knows how to make a burger!! It is huge, juicy and very filling!! So, sometimes we just have to give a place a second chance!! They can thank my cute little waitress for being so efficient and friendly for my returning. The layout and atmosphere is average but the right meal and the perfect waitress will make up for that!! Give this price a try if you enjoy Mediterranean type food and you enjoy something besides the burger, BUT, I would definitely go back for the burger and great service...

I have been a customer of this restaurant for a couple of years and I can say that the integrity and character of this restaurant is excellent! I was in a hurry today due to a appointment that I had and I didn't have a lot of time for lunch. I initially tried to eat at a Taziki's close by my house but when I went inside to order they were unwilling to take my order and made it very inconvenient and cumbersome to place an order because I didn't have a mask. I got fed up and drove to the PIta Stop. When I went in Amanda asked me if I had a mask and I told her no because I had left it at the house. She said it was no problem and then pulled one out and gave it to me to wear. The food and service was wonderful like always but when I went to pay for my food I insisted that they charge me an extra dollar to pay for the mask but they refused! That shows the true character of a business when they are offered more money but refuse to take it. I will always be a customer of this restaurant, they have proven...

Jamal does a fabulous job running The Pita Stop. I had the opportunity to be there for an event/party, and the entire staff was amazing at accommodating the group, as well as providing great menu recommendations. There was not a food item that I tried and did not like (including new foods or those out of my comfort zone). The overall service and atmosphere is excellent, and I already know this will be one of my go-to spots now! The food is authentic and fresh; it was one of the first times in a long time that I ate so much food from a restaurant and did not feel sick afterwards due to cheap ingredients, preservatives, etc. Recommendations: Cauliflower, Philly Cheese Steak, Wild Rice (with house dressing- trust me!), Kafta Specialty Hummus, Grilled Shrimp.

Greek is my favorite kind of food so as I was on my way to the nail salon and saw the Pita Stop Express, I knew I had to try it! They have a pick up window for convenience! You just have to call in ahead to place your order. I had the specialty hummus with gyro added. I also got the rolled grape leaves and the babaghanouj (smoked eggplant dip). I really liked the hummus with gyro. The stuffed grape leaves weren’t the same as what I’m used to, with the lemon flavor and oily, but there were still pretty decent. The babaghanouj was amazing and packed with flavor. I got a generous amount of pita bread to go with the appetizers. I will be ordering more from this establishment for sure!

Authentic, Fresh, and Full of Flavor! The Pita Stop is a true gem in Vestavia Hills! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and the mouthwatering aroma of authentic Mediterranean cuisine. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful — the lamb gyro and chicken kabobs are must-tries, and the hummus is some of the best in town. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is fast and friendly. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or enjoying a relaxed dinner, The Pita Stop delivers every time. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious, homemade Mediterranean food!
