Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Victoria

We visited the Dairy Queen located at 2120 Arboretum Blvd, Victoria, MN 55386 on 8/15/2015 at around 4 pm. A couple of weeks before, we had gone to a Minnesota Twins game where we received 2 Dairy Queen baseball caps that had a coupon on each of them for $1 off a Dairy Queen Blizzard. When we tried to use them, the girl said, "You can only use those at the place you got them." When I said they were from a Twins game, she said that they didn't accept those coupons. Then she said, "Maybe you can use them at the Chaska location."

First of all, since when won't coupons work at Dairy Queen? I know that some coupons may be for specific locations, but these coupons were not one of those. Sure, it says "At participation locations", but that is on EVERY coupon.

These kids working there are constantly making it very difficult to want to return to that location. We ordered a hot dog one time for our son, and we had gotten a hot dog that was microwaved, the bun was hard as a rock, and the hot dog looked like a dog turd. I went and asked for another hot dog, and it was like pulling teeth to get another one.

We ordered a kids meal one time that came with a small cone. When I went to ask for the cone after my son was done with his meal, they said that I had to use the coupon that was on the bag. I told them that the coupon was for a future visit, but they told me that I had to use that coupon. We had ordered the same meal the week before and did not have to use the coupon on the bag.

DQ what has happened? I live near Mound, MN there is a DQ in town per their small selection and unfriendly demeanor we refuse to revisit location. So I drive out of Mound area at 8pm to visit the Victoria, MN DQ tonight for food & sweets. My family and I arrive at 8:30 PM the 5th vehicle in the drive thru while waiting I checked web indicates 9pm store close. At 8:45 our turn at ordering ask for chicken strips...Manager said food had stopped being served at 8pm (where is that indicated) so ordered only thing available treats. The employee working window seemed sad felt bad for her then I noticed managers demeanor which was not very pleasant and he seemed very stressed. Look DQ I drove past several competitors serving food and ice cream. I arrived at this location to be told they can't make simple deep fried chicken strips and received attitude with ice cream. Please bring back the quality your public in these areas deserve perhaps raising franchise dues on poorly rated locations may start a change. What used to be an enjoyed family tradition in our area quickly turning into a past remembered friendly tradition. Delano you are the last shot of hope for DQ in our area...

Horrible customer service,will not be returning. Went there tonight, sat at drive thru speaker about 5 minutes finally said hello And then someone asked for order. No one in drive through but me. Get to window my hot fudge Sunday was brought to counter within a second. She opens window and takes card without saying a word. I ordered food as well and we all know it takes awhile so I said “ maybe you guys should wait till my food is closer to being done don’t you think this will be melted?” She says nothing and closes door. Obviously irritated with me goes to another employee pointing at me and talking.. so about 10 minutes later another employee brings my food and low and behold the Sundae is pretty much melted. I tell the other employee. Maybe they should wait on ice cream to make when people order food as well. Again not a word said. Both had MAJOR attitudes. Body language says a lot.
