"Meh!" as the Millennial say back in Chicago,IL. I have had better but I would not underrate this Ice Cream Parlor either. The staff was friendly. Young people operating it. I ordered a Banana Split but it seemed that they did not know how to make one. I address if they we're gonna put whip cream when the young lady behind the counter was going to make it. I should not have to do that. The Banana split was "OK". I just came from that Terrible "Vicks's Bar and Grill" across the street to have a desert elsewhere since I was not impressed by their Fish and Chips and gave them a bad rating to 2 stars over there. I would come back to try their Banana Cream Pie Ice Cream for Curiosity. They mentioned one ice cream dessert called "The Superman" in which I asked what flavor of ice cream was in it. I thought it was odd that it was Vanilla, Raspberry and Cherry Flavored Ice Cream. I did not see the relationship to the DC Comic book character to the flavor of ice cream especially using Vanilla? I ask and they themselves did not know why the owner named it that way. Other than that I...
Read morePretty abysmal first experience at this ice cream shop. I walk in with my partner and the staff are sitting on their phones, looking pretty bothered to see us. They go behind the counter with pretty bothered looks on their faces. We both order two 1 scoop Sundays and we're extremely disappointed with what we were served. On the menu it states all Sundays come with fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. What I got was 2 scoops of ice cream with the toppi g I selected, nothing more. When I asked they said that was the 1 scoop sunday. I asked for a spoon so I could at least eat my "sunday" and they replied that they had run out of spoons and had nothing for us to eat it with. So my first bite was 20 minutes later once I arrived home and it was pretty melted by that point. I implore anyone trying to decide if they should visit to stay away and spend your money elsewhere. Hands down the worst icecream shop from the second we walked in and at no point did they...
Read moreNothing beats hand dipped ice cream and I enjoy that there is always a new flavor to check out. The one-scoop cone really has two scoops and you can have two different flavors. I love that. There is plenty of outdoor sitting overlooking the lake and bike path. Usually they aren't too busy so you don't have to wait. The staff didn't wear gloves and could be better about touching the cones from a sanitary perspective. The quality of ice cream is very good and I'll...
