Read moreThis place is awful. This is the first and last time we will ever dine here. Very overpriced and overhyped. Server didnt know if they could make a mojito, even after my dining partner pointed out that according to the cocktail menu, they should have all the ingredients based on the other drinks. Cocktails took 15 minutes to make it to the table and didn't appear to be correct, but we still drank them since we were thirsty and never saw the server for quite a while afterwards. We ordered the walleye entree and chicken marsala pasta. It took around an hour to get our food after we had finished our app. The entrees were cold and severly under seasoned. The Marsala sauce was broken so you could see all the oil seperated from the sauce, and it had a film on the top like it was sitting under the heat lamps in the kitchen for 20 minutes. Plus, the chicken was overlooked and dry. The walleye had an abnormally thick crust on it, which was rubbery and not crispy. It was the weirdest crust on a fish we've ever had. Who is cooking this food bc I don't think it's anyone who has cooked before. The baked potato came with packets of sour cream and butter. Yes I said packets, like in the cafeteria in school. How can you serve packets of condiments?!?! Never have I seen those used in a restaurant before. The server never checked in on us while we were eating, and never asked if we wanted desert before dropping the check, or even offer more drinks during the meal. Overall, really poor food and service. I've had better at low budget breakfast joints and national chains. W&R needs to take a long look at that menu and refine things a bit more to make it easier on whomever is cooking. Plus, train the staff to be more attentive and maybe get an extra food runner. It seemed like there was only one person bringing out all the food and that might have been why our food was cold and congealed. To anyone considering this place, I would recommend turning around and walking across the...
Read moreVery average. We were underwhelmed. I was hoping for a fun new place to eat. Service was exceptionally slow and once our food arrived (brought by a wait assistant) our server completely disappeared. Our server never checked in to see how our food was. At the end of our meal, we sat for 10 minutes with napkins on our plates and when she finally came back she asked if we wanted refills, failing to notice we were done. My stuffed herbed chicken was very bland, almost no trace of herbs. Just chicken stuffed with a chunk of cream cheese. It was over cooked and rubbery. I was hungry so I grudgingly ate half of it. It wasn't awful, just not good. When she asked if I wanted a box for all of my leftovers I very politely told her no thank-you and that it just wasn't very good. She did apologize and say she would let the kitchen know but there was no offer of a discount or any type of goodwill gesture from the restaurant. She did ask if there was anything they could do (but of course we were already done eating since she spent so much time ignoring us). We could have requested a refund or something but that should be something a restaurant offers and not be something a patron has to request. That seemed tacky. My wife's sandwich was fine but ordinary and not something to bring us back. We were also very surprised that a place that advertises having a whiskey tasting bar wouldn't bother to have a whiskey list in the dining room. Seems like a huge missed...
