Grumpy's Meatzzeria — Restaurant in Victoria

Sorry to say, I'm not impressed. We were really looking forward to trying this place out after reading all the reviews.

After we ordered (hubby got the philly, I had the gyros, and the kiddo got the spaghetti), hubby asked to use the restroom. Its located near the "kitchen."

This is important because, on his way back, he looked for a grill, or a hood, or a fry station. Nada. Just a microwave. He listened for the sound of French fries frying since we both ordered fries. He came to the sad conclusion that nothing was fresh. All microwaved.

The fries definitely didn't look or taste like they just came out of the fryer. His philly was definitely not just cooked on a grill. I didn't expect my gyro meat to be fresh, but I did for my fries.

Kiddo liked his spaghetti ok, but he's not picky. Sadly, we won't be returning. The young lady behind the counter was very...

Nice change for Victoria with offerings of Philly's and Gyros. Although their version of Gyros is the first I've seen with lettuce and feta; not my style.

The food is good and the restaurant is clean. Service is a little slow from the kitchen, so plan to be there a while. No refills because of COVID??? They are seemingly one of the few places here that don't do refills. Not the end of the world, just odd.

I saw they have a few other Greek offerings, but was told they're "out of season" because of their supplier. So I asked rhetorically that they didn't make the spanikopita in house? Truthfully it is so easy to make, just a little time consuming. So its odd that they would order pre-made at a higher cost. Then again maybe it's not a hot...

I’m new in town & decided to order from Grumpy’s for the first time via the DoorDash App. I had a hard time choosing as everything sounded great, but I settled on the Philly Cheesesteak. This is not something I would typically order at any restaurant, because in my opinion it’s hard to find a good Cheesesteak. I was not disappointed in the least. I understood as soon as I saw & tasted it why it was a $15 sandwich. Worth every penny in my opinion. It was huge and overfilled with steak, cheese, and the other toppings. The Cajun fries were even good, and I’m not a FF person. Somehow they were still crispy by the time they got to my house. All in all, Grumpy’s deserves 5 stars.
