The Box Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Victoria

I came here on a Saturday expecting a large crowd, but I was surprised to see only 2-3 patrons other than myself.

The atmosphere was nice. Very quiet...maybe could use some music in the background. But granted that most people that go in use their own devices for music, including myself, it wasn't that big of a deal.

Let's get to the products themselves. I was expecting a larger quantity of choices, however they only had the very very basics that coffee shops should run...Americanos, Iced coffees, espressos...etc. Again, nothing bad, but nothing outstanding.

I, and my friend, were both disappointed with our orders. I got a plain black Iced Americano and my friend ordered one as well but with cream and sugar. The moment the coffee hit my tongue I was overwhelmed with a burnt coffee taste. The taste completely overtook whatever bean they were trying to use. I wish the "baristas" would be more conscious of the product they make...burnt coffee can be smelled before it is tasted. Hence, our coffees were made burnt and the "baristas" did not pay attention during the brewing process.

Considering this was a first review and tasting, I will try this spot again in the future. I was really hoping that this town would have a new perspective on coffee other...

We truly enjoyed this new find for former Victorians now from Houston Area. From the most beautiful coffee/espresso machine to the wonderful Cubanos. They were so tasty on a chilly holiday morning. I am so glad for this great find in a quaint shop that opens early and delivers a great product with wonderful and welcoming hospitality. Met some very neighborly Victorians, who gave the shop a warming ambiance, especially during the holiday season. Returned the next morning to a consistent serving of a Cubano, great coffee & wonderful feeling of being in my once hometown. I dont know much about coffee other than I enjoy it very much and I don't like the commercialized taste of big name coffee shops. At The Box, they're always friendly, the music is always mellow and the orders are on point. Its to the point once I walk in they pretty much know my order. They even helped me to figure out what I actually like when i made my initial visit. I get the caramel latte w/extra shot (I have a problem, I know). Its always exceptionally enjoyable and today I took a Pic of my drink. I hope yall enjoy this spot as much as I do. That work of art in the cup you see was crafted by Hailey.
