This restaurant has to rate as one of the most special and wonderful places I have ever eaten. First of all, it is located in lovely Mt. Kisco, right on Main Street, with a lovely, spacious Front Terrace, with umbrellas, for outdoor eating, and it just makes you want to walk right up and remain outdoors and eat as if there was all the time in the world to do so. Indeed, the indoor space is lovely and spacious as well, with lovely full length windows looking out onto the terrace, so wherever you eat (and there is also a lovely bar space with tables), you feel as if you are outdoors with the trees.
Secondly, the food is delicious!!! I do not know how to classify it exactly; I would say that there are a number of dishes such as soy glazed chicken (off the bone) and teriyaki salmon in bowls with rice and delicious vegetables, such as beautifully cooked spinach, which have an Asian flavor, but you can also order a hamburger and a salmon burger with fries. There are excellent starters as well; they do have a menu of the day, and one day in July, they had zucchini blossoms sauteed in a glazing, which I have not eaten since my Italian grandmother cooked them, fresh from the garden. There are a number of different types of bowls and wraps and sandwiches and dishes, all of which sound fantastic, and I have to.say that everything I have eaten there was delicious. They make their own chips! And one day, when I could not eat another bite of the soy-glazed chicken, I felt that I needed just a little something to end the meal, so I ordered one scoop of their lemon sorbet, which turned out to be white and just a touch sweet and heavenly!
On a personal note, I would like to say that the people who work there could not be nicer, and one of their head staff helped me so much during my very first visit to Mt. Kisco, when I was almost in tears because my phone had run out of its charger, I did not have a charger with me, I was dependent upon Uber to get me back to Ardsley, and was thoroughly miserable and stymied as to what to do. Brandon welcomed me into the restaurant, called the Mt. Kisco taxi service (which I did not know existed), found out that they would take me to Ardsley when I finished lunch, and then called them after lunch to arrange for the pick up. I will be forever grateful to him, for his kindness, which he made seem so matter-of-fact! Thus, this restaurant has become one of my all time favorites, as has Mt....
Read moreMy husband, toddler, and I were in the area and decided to stop in for dinner. We were seated immediately, and the service was very prompt. We put our son's order in first before he starved, and it was out in minutes (which, if you've dealt with a hungry toddler before is the most important thing when eating out in public). We got the chicken dumplings as an appetizer, and they were amazing! Great flavor, and a nice small serving - I think about 5 in the bowl. My husband got a steak bowl thing, and he said it was delicious. He ate the whole thing and said it was the perfect amount, where he was full but not stuffed. I got the short-rib grilled cheese, and I loved it. Tons of meat in the sandwich. I also got Sriracha to dip it in as my unborn child makes me crave everything spicy. I'd have to recommend the combo to everyone it was so good. Also, the French fries that came with it were those thin and long "shoe-string" fries, and they were perfectly crispy and delicious. I also ended up getting the "Nutella Pizza" for dessert, which wasn't on the menu. It was like a personal pizza with I think fluff spread all over, with banana slices, toasted marshmallows, and Nutella drizzled all over. Definitely sized for sharing, could be for 3 or 4 people. I don't know what I was expecting as I ordered it just based on the name with no description, but I sure wasn't disappointed! I've never had anything like it, and it was slightly addicting. It was a great atmosphere, definitely family-friendly. Wait staff were very friendly and prompt. So glad we...
Read moreWe ate here on Sunday 9/24 and had one of the best cheeseburgers ever - however the whole experience was lessened due to one waitress/employee. I had asked several wait staff if they could turn the music down a little bit. Our table might’ve been right below the speaker but regardless it was unreasonably loud (I get it, it’s a bar restaurant but c’mon no wonder kids/people are losing their hearing - even my Apple Watch notified me of the decibels). When I didn’t notice any change, I politely asked again this time to some girl on my way to the restroom. When that same girl was asked again by our entire table of 5 people when she was at our table, she said “I did turn it down and if I did any more, it’d be silent and walked off” (?!). This was so rude, unprofessional, and blatantly false. Anyways, luckily she wasn’t our waiter and the guy who actually waited on us was great. Im not sure if anyone tried anything to turn the music down —nevertheless the music was still about the same and quite loud. Typically I would have walked out due to the loud music and the rude unintelligent girl. However, the food and the guy waiter kind of made up for the rude girl and loud music, and we were hungry. I personally want to go back someday and tell friends about the food but not if the music is...
