Here we go trying out one of the fast food restaurants Wisconsin is famous for, Culver's.
I just want to start out saying the service was fantastic. All the drive through workers were very helpful and cheerful, making sure to read back orders and double check to make sure our food was correct. We waited maybe 6 or 7 minutes for our food, not even starting to get antsy (since it was 5:30 on a Friday and they were obviously busy). All the sudden an employee came rushing over apologizing for our wait and handing us a few coupons for free ice cream. It was such a nice surprise and very kind of them to do. We weren't expecting it at all since it didn't feel like we were even waiting that long.
Now for the food. The pork tenderloin sandwich was quite tasty. Not overly greasy and perfectly crisp. Reminds you of a really good tenderloin from a truck stop. It's always consistent and the meat is tender.
The fries were great, especially if you like crinkle cut ones. Perfectly salted, they are a little greasy but fast food=a little greasy sometimes. Their fries are always really crispy; they didn't even get soggy on the drive home.
The double cheeseburger is a staple order for us. One of my favorite fast food places to get a burger from. It can be very hit or miss sometimes to get a burger from fast food places. Culvers is always consistent with their burgers unlike places like McDonald's where you never know what your meal is going to look like depending which location you go to.
My wife's absolute favorite item to order are their chicken strips. Their all white meat and so juicy. Never any weird stringy bits or gross bites. Just tender, delicious, crispy chicken.
During this trip we found out Culver's has their own brand of root beer, so of course we had to try it. It was absolutely delicious. Creamy and not too sweet, but just right. They also didn't put any ice in the cup, which was great since usually driving food home to eat means your ice melts and your drink gets watery. This root beer stayed cold and carbonated all the way home. It would probably make for a delicious root beer float.
Culver's is definitely the place to go to get high quality food, fast. They're consistent, everytime is delicious, and the staff at this location...
Read moreI’ve been living in Wisconsin for 4 years now and I have NEVER experienced more utter disrespect than I have at this Culver’s location . I don’t know if it because I’m black or what ? I went tonight 1/19/23 at 940 pm after working a long shift at the nursing home and me and my mother were trying to order our food she wanted a crispy chicken sandwhich done a minute order , the young man on the speaker kept huffing and puffing and sighing and said we can only do extra crispy because there’s not an option for a minute over . It’s not what he said but how he said it in a demeaning mocking discrimtone. We then told him in a very nice way we don’t appreciate his customer service and he said “well if you don’t like it then go somewhere else then” then he goes and gets his manager who comes on the speaker with the same nonchalant attitude. At that point we just left because we were not gonna continue to deal with that. I have this all on recording . So there’s no denying it at this point . And this isn’t even the first incident or first time I’ve had to call corporate on them because 2 months ago their manager the tall skinny one who works day shift was yelling at us about using coupons that culvers sends us on our email. I’m just tired of this treatment. Culvers used to be a fun place for my family and I to get a treat and now it’s just horrible. I will not be returning until the customer service gets fixed. I can understand if we were being rude or something but we literally are just trying to order and customize our food just like anybody else. The staff there definitely needs to go through extensive customer service training and racism and...
Read moremy family and i moved here a day ago, and just needed a quick snack while we unpack boxes. we have food sensitivities so made a gluten free, no cheese order - some baskets with fries. they got something wrong, which was no problem, so i went in from the drive thru to get it fixed.
the lady at the front got quickly frustrated and kept trying to rush and talk over me when i was trying to explain what happened. i was only explaining what the correct order was supposed to be and she snatched the receipt from me so she could do it a little faster, but i had literally just gotten to the counter. as she was explaining what i said to someone else and the cook across from them, they were all clearly frustrated and having an attitude. still, i try to give some grace and wait silently. theyre huffing and puffing and rolling their eyes and the cook literally tosses the remade order at the ladies on the other side. now theyre irritated as well and instead of handing me the bag it gets shoved over the counter at me. i smiled and said “thank you, let me check it real quick,” and got glared at by the two ladies and rolled their eyes as they stood there and waited as i quickly made sure it was correct. it was correct now, but at that point i was very uncomfortable and quickly left.
ive lived in wisconsin with my family for about 6 years now, and this is the first time ive felt like ive been treated rudely at any culvers. no apology or anything, just attitude and being talked over. hopefully there’s another culvers nearby in this town, as my family and i swiftly agreed it’s not worth going back...
